Thanks Andrew for the tidbit. Here goes:

The re-union is most certainly back on everyone's agenda and rumors that the band is not committed to a new David Lee Roth album and tour are totally false.
In fact, this arrived in my mailbox this week, from a regular source, passing on what he was told. Naturally like everything else, it can't be confirmed officially, but I think it's worth a mention:
"The papers for the Van Halen with David Lee Roth reunion were signed last week. It's officially / legally a go. Eddie is fine, the media blew his condition way out of proportion. The tour is being planned for early next year, with the recording process to begin immediately".
More news as soon as possible.

Thats good news to hear. That "No news is good news" was getting really old. The well used to be dry..but now seems to be getting more water all the time. Seems like a dam is about ready to burst. From what I know and have seen I think its coming our way sooner than we realize. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Right on JMJ. I liked Van Hagar but I love Classic Van Halen. No one will ever come close to that IMHO.

It hardly matters what the reason is as far as accuracy of the reports. It seems like pretty much anything positive we've heard about the reunion has been false.

Mike indicated that the reunion hasn't really even started, Dave indicated pretty much the same thing. We've had all kinds of reports about album release dates, tours, song titles, Dave playing harmonica and the like. But now that we know that nothing much has happened the rumours have transformed into - Dave and Eddie are negotiating, papers are being signed. Sorry to be cynical but it seems like the rumours are just being adapted to reflect the few facts which we know.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if WB is behind some of these rumours now in an effort to force people's hand and kill of any possible Van Halen future besides a Roth reunion in the fans' minds.

I am of the opinion that nothing at all is going on right now. BUT, if they were to do something, Dave would be involved.

rest assured that dave will be back. no one is gonna make ed do anything, let alone wb. ed would stop vh b4 wb made him do anything man. he'd keep playing music, but not in that way.

i think ed and dave both know they need each other in their careers now. if ed has overcome his drinking demons as he has been sober for 7 years, and has beaten cancer, then surely he can forgive dave and vice versa.

now i am sure wb wants a reunion obviously because they stand to make money. if wb were like, make a record with dave or we'll drop you, someone would still pick up vh.
