I was under the impression that we didn't have the date...or even a date. As a matter of fact, if I remember correctly, the last I knew...SRO was still handling Van Halen, and we aren't sure if Danniels is still involved or not. I don't know...if I've missed something...by all means, let me know.

I'm not exactly the type of insider you'd want, guys...I get arcane messages filtered down to me, and I have to decipher.

As for Hain's question, I don't know the actual date of Ray's firing; that's why i asked. I only know that it was announced along with Gary;s departure.

Anyone who can dig this info up? It may be relevant. Then again, it may not. My knowledge of the biz often has managers and agents being eligible for certain rights after a contract is broken or expired, usually for a period stated in terms of whole years (multiples of 365 days from the starting date).

And if anyone is still holding to the New York rumours, nobody working in or for any studio in the city will admit to doing any work for VH of any sort. So if they were there at all, nobody's talking about it.

Looks like we need an army of private detectives to sort through all the info and mis-info out there! It's kind of strange that everything is pointing to late this year with an album Feb/March.

I know some don't hold TK in high regard, but when the DLR website was re-vamped in May, the slawterhouse magazine cover said something like: "coming in fall 2000", and that was back in May.

So here's a sttttreetttchhhh...they knew that Ray's contract would expire Nov 00 and decided to slowly repair their working relationships/friendships, complete the album, leak false rumors, release the remasters, update VH and DLR websites, throw out bits of truth here and there...just to keep us going until the contract w/ Ray expired....and then BAM! Van Halen enters the room!

Just a late night theory...nothing to get worked up about...

After reading the other Ray Daniel's thread, I had to add something to my previous post...

THAT'S why the re-masters weren't heavily advertised! VH didn't want Ray to make much money off of them...so only 1 or 2 of each copy are displayed in record stores....and that's why the non re-masters are mysteriously gone from most shelves!

Hey Buddy, I saved the announcement of Gary's departure to floppy disk, and it's not mentioned that Ray was given his walking papers in the statement. I believe his leaving the VH camp was announced a little later, though not a whole lot of us ever saw any concrete evidence (i.e., official statement).

I could be wrong, though.

There was no official announcement of Ray's departure, but I think the fact that SRO is not mentioned on the remasters and CAA is says something...doesn't it?

I would add that nobody officially has told us that Ray was let go. In fact, this I think is what is holding up any announcement from the band.

Who is managing them ?

We were also led to beleive that Dave fired BID ED, so he may not have any management himself..

If you give SRO a call in Toronto, you will hear an automated menu that mentions Van Halen. For legal reasons, is the only answer as to why SRO still has Van Halen in their directory. Anyone know why SRO hasn't deleted Van Halen from their directory?
