American(TOPGUN) Fighter Pilots love Van Halen

I was watching the new series "American Fighter Pilots" last night and one of the Topgun pilots made fun of the younger generation of pilots. He said the new recruites listen to the Back Street Boys.....we(Topgun pilots) listen to Van Halen. It tickled the shit out of me!!!!!!!

One of my professors is a military sociologist. He told us about how Desert Storm was the first war where troops could wear Walkmans...it psyched them up for combat! "Light Up The Sky" was a Gulf War fighter plane favorite, a lot of times they would all be piped into it while awaiting radio orders. They generally get a lot of needed emotion and adrenaline from metal tunes. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]
