Absolutely awesome live. My God, when they kicked off the show with this on the Balance tour in New Orleans, I was mesmerized. The riff just swirling in my head over and over. It just flowed, hypnotically. The Monk chant went on for a long time before Alex struck the drum. Then it was on!

I'm not sure if they played it when I saw them in Edmonton on that tour. I know they didn't open with it, they opened with Right Now; a great song, but not the type of song I want Van Halen opening a concert with.

Great song though, really comes thumping out of the speakers when Alex kicks it into action. With the monk chanting, it's one of their coolest album openers.

The Seventh Seal really rocks. I think it's one of the best on Balance. In the show I went to in '95, they opened with Right Now, but The Seventh Seal would have been cool, though.

"Seventh Seal" was a great way to start off the shows at the beginning of the 'Balance' tour. Towards the middle and end, the started with 'Right Now' which I didn't agree with. The only keyboard song that is good to open with is 'Mine All Mine'.

Even with all those good qualities to it, you know what really makes the song a winner?

The lyrics when you actually understand what Sammy is referring to by cracking the seventh seal.

Excellent song to start an anything with.

Sammy's lyrics as always are incredible, and match the song perfectly.
