C'mon everybody - cut the man a little slack. He's aged far better than many rock stars from his era and regardless of what many think of his current musical endeavors, atleast he's attempting to break new ground.
I read several reviews here that bashed Dave because his "cursing" was too politically incorrect. C'mon kids - that's why we love Dave. He's from an era when testosterone was the kingpin. Back in the day you could conquer the world with two double D batteries and a tube sock.
I think DLR's schtick still works! In fact I think it's more effective today than 20 years ago.
Regardless of what you think of DLR - he is the epitome of everyting that rock 'n roll stands for. He's loud; he's reckless; he's probably stoned; and he doesn't know when enough is enough.
Dave may not move as many units as he did back in the day, but anyone who lived through the DLR era understands why he is still revered as a rock god by people in the industry.
He was an atomic bomb!
Sure the explosion went off almost two decades ago but he's still radiatin'. And as long as DLR radiates, I'll be listening. It may not be as striking and powerful as the early days but I still hear echoes of the past and the echoes, my friends, are fucking cool.
So, give Dave a break... That suit is you.

There was a time when Dave didn't need Dave fans to defend him from other Dave fans. That time apparently has passed. Doesn't that say it all?

Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!
...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

The people in this country, well obviously not all, hate our government leaders so much that they would elect RFK. This doesn’t mean that conservatives or liberals just love him now, it means that...
