Here's the update from Mike's site:
And The Joint Be Jumpin'...
May 18, 2002
Planet Us played their second-ever live gig last night at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas! Michael joined Sammy Hagar & The Waboritas mid-way into their first set to pound out a few Van Halen rockers including "Top Of The World," "Why Can't This Be Love," "5150" and "Finish What Ya Started!" Mona stepped in to share background vocals with Michael as he layed the bottom end down on the ground!
Journey's Neil Schon and Deen Castronovo then took to the stage and Planet Us kicked the packed house on their butts performing the haunting rocker "Vertigo" followed by the equally brooding "Peeping Through A Hole!"
Planet Us will be performing again tonight with Hagar, so come on down and get your asses kicked! Check out the photos below from last night's gig:

I was at the show tonight. Sammy and the Waboritas wailed through old and new tunes including Runaround. Sammy introduced Michael, then they proceeded to tear into: Top Of The World, Why Can't This Be Love, Dreams, Poundcake, Right Now, and Finish What Ya Started. Michael left, Neil appeared and they played Rock Candy and Heavy Metal. Finally, Planet Us closed the show with two very heavy original tunes.

I recorded last night's (Saturday) show in Vegas, and I have both of the Planet Us tunes. I recorded it via MD, and other than some *very* minor static, due most likely to me being right at the rail, the recording is clear.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."
"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

I'll share this:
The Planet Us tunes are very dark, and have a very moody groove. I've never heard Sam do music this dark. It makes the music on "Fair Warning" seem bright and cheerful by comparison.
Mike looked extremely happy playing with Sam. If I didn't know any better, I could swear it was 1995 all over again. Mike was all over the stage.
1st night: Being up onstage on the catwalk doesn't suck!
2nd night: up against the railing is just as good!
Both nights just kicked my ass. I am beat to death! "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

Looks like they had some more fun tonight.
Rollin' The Joint
May 19, 2002
The house was rockin' for the second night in a row at The Joint last night as Planet Us closed the show - again treating the sold-out crowd to "Vertigo" and "Peeping Through A Hole."
Earlier in the evening, Michael strapped on a red Yamaha BB3000MA bass and joined Sammy Hagar & The Waboritas to tear through several Van Halen tunes including "Top Of The World," "Finish What Ya Started" and "Why Can't This Be Love" just as he did the previous night. But, the band pulled a little hat trick and added "Dreams," and "Right Now" to their set and the packed house pumped their fists in the air in approva!.

Wow, Mike's site is probably getting more hits these days then VH's official site.
I'd like to hear the new Planet Us tunes along with the VH songs that Mike performed on. Anybody know if the show was recorded and if any copies are floating around yet?Remember the Heroes - 9/11/01

MY GOD THOSE PICS ARE SW
T!!!
I can't believe The 'Vault hasn't got the tunes by now! "Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard
"......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT
" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!
But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!- MARD-The Movie

Two of my friends saw Sambo the 2nd night in Vegas. They walked by Mikey at the Hard Rock an' says,"Hey, Mikey!!" They said he seemed to be happy to be known...heheheheh...they ate a couple tables away from Mona an' said she looks better up close...an' they also said that the new tunes were crap, why do people get jazzed 'bout WCTBL?, why did the chump from Smashmouth get up on stage?, an' Sammy waz up to hiz usual preachin'...Poundcake an' 5150 were cool cuts indeed an' it was kinda cool to see Mikey an' Sammy chillin' but a re-union tour with Dave iz still where it's at sho nuff!!!!!! I was there both nights as well. Mikey and Sammy were absolutely loving it! On the second night they finished Dreams and then compared goosebumps
Sammy kept ribbing Mike by saying "That's the most fun Mikey has had in 7 years." You'd expect that from Dave more than Sammy but Mike took it in stride, he just laughed. I've never seen Mikey jump around on stage like that...he was really getting off on the shows.
They were both partying pretty good on stage too Sammy's show is the real deal, a great time and really great sound!!
I heard people whining about the Planet US stuff since they felt it was too dark or heavy, especially to end the show with. Vertigo really has a Led Zep quality to it. It is hard heavy rock without question. Neal Schon simply rips and seems to love cracking it open like that.
Dave better bring his best game to the Sam/Dave tour cause Sammy is firing on all cylinders. I saw 2 awesome shows
