Default VH Book Author Comments On Leaked "Page Six" Excerpt

    http://tinyurl.com/2bmpvf

About halfway down the comments section under the story, author (if that is indeed him) Ian Christe comments about a snippet of his upcoming book on Van Halen titled "Everybody Wants Some" which describes the well known method Dave used during the heyday of his stint in the band to single out girls in the audience for after-show partying. In repsonse to the leaked passage from the book Ian writes:

"I guess they weren't as interested in what I had to say about Michael Anthony's bass solos."

I don't know where the Post got a leaked manuscript, but I guess you haven't been used until you've been used by Page Six.

I wrote the book Everybody Wants Some, and after reading that story I feel like I've just stepped off a transatlantic flight with leaky toilets running down the aisle. The part about the Van Halen grid system is fine -- Roth talked about it on David Letterman 25 years ago. The scrapbook is news to me. And the last paragraph is one extremely dark moment in a story that spans Roth, the Van Halen brothers, Michael Anthony, and Sammy Hagar's entire lives.

So in short, I feel pretty cheap right now, especially since the book won't be released until August to put some counterbalance and substance against this lurid claims. The full cover is here, with some more details:

I love how they altered the cover pic and put clothes on the chicks......The original really spoke to the sex, drugs, and rock n' roll Van Halen lifestyle. Maybe it still does that........but I liked it better with the chicks nekkid !

The cover mentions Van Halen as the "heaviest metal band of all time!!?!?"

Uh-oh. I was getting all excited, but if even on the COVER they start with untruths and complete invention, I wonder how accurate it will be. We still have yet to hear if Ian Christie talked to any new "source" to write the book.

    I'm confused here

You say you wrote a book called EWS?

Or did this Ian C. steal it from you?

i like how the author at least is giving the credit that this isnt a new item from the book and something that has been out there before...im now a little more interested in getting the book. i wonder what kind of access he had and what new things are in there and to see if there is any difference into his version of all the breakups

"[It] featured sights like a backward-leaning naked girl being used as a coffee table, a lit cigarette in her [private parts]," Christe writes.

"I love how they altered the cover pic and put clothes on the chicks"

I'm the editor for Ian's VH book. We didn't put clothes on the ladies. There are several variations of the picture we used for the cover (which covers the entire jacket, putting Dave and Mike on the back). The one on the front was wearing a bikini top and a skimpy bottom of some sort. To make the title "pop" more, we fuzzed some black around it and over her a bit. The lady on the back is topless, but seeing as bookstores frown on stocking books with such bold nudity on them, we covered her up with a box for copy.
