Default Newton Predicted The End Of The World Using The Bible

I found this story amusing and kind of sad. Not the stuff about Newton but the ignorance of the writer about Newton himself:

    http://news.aol.com/topnews/articles...00010000000001

The Newton papers, Ben-Menahem said, also complicate the idea that science is diametrically opposed to religion. "These documents show a scientist guided by religious fervor, by a desire to see God's actions in the world," she said.
Well, no duh. Newton used science to explain God's work, his faith was his driving force. It allowed him to write his laws of Gravity without explaining Gravity itself. That act is STILL revolutionary even today because his laws are still accurate enough to be used by NASA today.

Newton was also am Alchemist, he figured out that hidden in the ancient Greek mythological stories were embeded Chemical formulas and that the ancients were smarter than people thought and still think today.

I had heard somewhere a while back that Newton believed in the "Bible Code" but he wasn't exactly able to work that out on an abacus the way the more recent guys did with their computer program.

2060? Not with the way shit's been this decade. I'm more inclined to believe the Mayan calendar end date of 12/23/2012, the way things are going.

Of course if I'm wrong, I'll be doing a HELL of a lot of late Xmas shopping that year.

    Ford,

    It's actually 12/21/2012..

And there is alot of very interesting stuff out there about this date, and not only from the Mayan perspective.

Some of what I've read is mind-boggling... This goes way beyond preparing for a Y2K computer glitch....

Prepare to see riots in the streets in some locations as the date approaches and becomes the biggest story of our generation.

I find it interesting that for all his religious zeal, Newton and other people trying to put a biblical spin on the end of time seem to forget the Bible itself says no one except God knows when the end will come...

Where does one go to find out more about this date? Seems like 12/21/2112 w/b interesting for some reason.

Partic since I probably won't be around to see it.

What about 2112 and the Age of Aquarius? No one really knows for sure what the future holds; if we did it would drive us insane. I remember reading DLR say that there was not supposed to be a tomorrow anyway. It is written that we will not know the time but the season.

I used to spend a lot of time worrying over what was going to happen in the future, after watching the (Man Who Saw Tomorrow). Then I finally woke up and realized there was nothing I could do about it anyway, and I had wasted probable the best years of my life doing so.

The one thing I learned from 911 was the season looks to be at hand, now I will spend the rest of my time here enjoying what time I have left. We are not promised another minute.

    It doesn’t fit the plan

The ancient Greek navy used a chemical weapon called "Greek Fire." It was a fire that could not be put out by water. Water may have actually fed it (I'm not sure). To this day, nobody has been able to figure out what the chemical makeup was of this weapon.

    He's right.

It's scary stuff. It's not just the Mayan prediction. Many cultures and belief systems throughout history both scientific and faith-based describe a drastic shift in this era of man on the winter solstice of that year.

That has been my interpretation of it - which brings up the question, as long as SOMEONE thinks each and every day is the last for all of us, it'll never happen...right? LOL! There ARE certain things that make me think we ARE in the endtimes but who am I to say...

Come to Florida, young lady. We'll sit upon the beach with a picnic basket full of food and a cooler full of beverages, and watch the apocalypse unfold.
