Default EVH 25k Frankenstrat on eBay

    http://tinyurl.com/2tu4kt

Heh, the guy's excuse for already selling it is his wife got on his case for buying it with out running it through her. Too funny.

Check out the photo of Eddie with the guitar. Tell me he wasn't hammered to the gills.

Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

Ha! lol! Same story; his wife is gonna kill him! lol! She said " it's either the guitar or the Harley. " I'll bet that the guitar will end up being worth more in the long run. I think we're gonna see more of these, yet, go up for bid!

Oh man, who would buy one of those? Look at all those dings and scratches! The original owner must not have taken very good care of it. Even one of the pickups is missing. No thanks!

Now there's 3 up on ebay. I think what we're seeing and will see more in the next few months is people who bought these guitars looking for a quick return on their investment with the exception of the one guy who is selling his at a "Buy It Now" price about $500 below what he undoubtably paid for it. He sounds just plain dumb or he thought he could get a cash "loan" by buying the guitar with a credit credit and selling it on eBay (which is kinda dumb as well).

You can bet the thinking some of these guys had went something like "there's only 300 being made and the pre-orders will sell quickly (which they did), if I spend $25k now using a credit card, I could turn around and sell it on eBay or someplace for at least $30 - $35k and clear an easy $5 - $10 grand profit."

I'd guess 90% of the original pre-orders placed through Fender were on credit cards.

The problem is, not too many people have $21 - $35k hard cash (none of these sellers are taking any Paypal or credit card payments) all at once at their immediate disposal to pay for an auction item like a collectable guitar. Personally, there's no fucking way I'd buy something as high priced as one of these guitars without the protection most major Credit Cards provide the holder in a dispute such as the guitar getting wrecked in shipping even if the item is insured through UPS, FedEx or the USPS.

    These guys basically fucked themselves.

anyone actually emailed these guys? This sounds like music dealers posing as "abused husbands"... There are a TON of business on there diguised to draw in attention,, not bad cause I always get good deals and whether you like it or not your gonna pay 25,000 for this guitar right now... I bet at least one of these guys are a business owner at least of a music store that hasn't gotten serious bites on it and now has resorted to doing this.

25k for a guitar..man that is just insane. All because of a certain name associated with it, absolutely hilarious. I'm not fond of signature series anything, because at the end of the day no matter what guitar I have I'm still going to sound like..well..me.

Bout the only cool thing I dig about that guitar is the case, would look good under my bed.

The market for these boutique "replica" guitars for the likes of Clapton, Page and Stevie Ray Vaughan is very, very limited even worldwide. Because Eddie's Frankenstrat is by far the most recognizable guitar any rock musician has ever been associated with, Fender really pushed the envelope doing a run of 300 instruments as compared to about 100 for the other artists by Fender and Gibson (Page's doubleneck). The fact that Fender did sell out is more a testament to some novice speculators and overzealous guitar stores who think they're going to make some easy money reselling these guitars at a much higher price than list price in the next few months' time.

Someone with some decent cash on hand looking for a so-called "deal" will likely be able to pick up one of these guitars at up at half the list price in the next few years when some of these speculators realize they'd rather get *any* kind of cash for one of these guitars versus hanging on to one for another few years while paying off the credit card they used to buy the stupid thing with.
