Default Musician's Friend - EVH III Amp

I notice that Musician's Friend now has the EVH III Amp.

Does anyone know why did Ed not like "slant cabs"?

Scroll down to post #4 and read my story.

Straight cabs have more wood, thus they have more tone (lows especially).

    Andrew:

    Thanks for the info.

I read your #4 post. I'm not sure I understand.

    Enlighten me.

    Regards,

Because it is cheaper to mass produce one type of cab. He always plays
thru the straight cab anyway. Kinda like the tone knob on the guitars--if he doesn't use them, why offer them?
How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?

    Mk5:

    Thanks for the info.

When I play a gig, especially in a small club at low volume, I need a slant cab order to hear it. I guess when I buy an EVH III, I'll get a Marshall slant cab.

    Andrew Thomas:

I believe you sent me an incorrect link??? Please send correct link to your post #4.

I think I may already know what you were implying, but I want to hear what you have to say before I respond.

    Regards

I was just joking around, bsm. There's been several threads about the 5150 III started already, a few recently since the MF catalog came out.

I liked you pointing out the straight cab thing. Ed played slant cabs on the top of his stacks on the FUCK tour, but I think by Balance he was back to just straight cabs.

Kind of cool to hear a natural "flange" effect created when the camera's mic moved closer to the amp.

Kind of bothers me tho when I read comments with that clip that say the 5150II sounds just like it at 1/4 the price?

I play in a lot of different style bands (rock, blues, country, dance), so that 3rd channel excites me, but man, that is a pricey amp..............No Doubt... right Andrew?
