If you think about it, and I may be wrong, VH really has only one reason NOT to announce whatever it is they are gonna announce. The only reason you can't make a definite announcement is because there is nothing DEFINITE to announce. Now, that doesn't mean that the reunion is off or was never on, it just means that it may not be 100% guaranteed yet. I can almost guarantee that they are not at home twidling their thumbs. I think the basis for all these rumors (they got pissed and called it off, they aren't doing anything, ED is dying, etc....) is that people are trying to over-examine the situation. It's pure paranoia. It just like finding a mole on your leg, first you think its cancer, then some kind of weird disease, then herpes (from that chick last week), but when you go to the doctor, it turns out to be the most logical thing.........a fuckin' mole!!!!
I don't know about you, but if I were Eddie, and I caught as much shit as he did for the whole '96 thing, I would rather wait a while and risk losing a few fans than announce the thing before it is in stone and risk a repeat of '96. This way, if it actually does go bad for some reason, he can always say that he never said anything about Dave being back.....because he never did. And nobody can deny that this time. So just pick another band to listen to for the meantime or old VH cds or Milli Vanilli or whatever. They'll be back and you'll forget about the time you had to wait.
But thats just me thinking logically..........

Look...lets face it here...Van Halen could come out and say we are attempting to work with David Lee Roth but are being held up by litigation right now. They could say that they have a record in the can with someone they've performed with before and are waiting for the lawyers to clear it all...but they don't. My point? There isn't one damn reason at this point to keep their mouths shut that I can think of. We're a loyal following, and after the sham of 96 and 98...us still being here...you'd think they'd trust us a bit more...

Hey Pojo, like your site by the way. What do you suggest VH should say if they are still working with Roth but things are still kinda shaky, i.e. they still have major disagreements and things aren't 100% definite yet. If they even mention Roth, they are setting themselves up for a world of shit if they just can't deal with each other. If they make an announcement without mentioning him, DLR will probably be pissed, as he should be, that they are afraid to mention him. I'd love to hear something too, bu not at that cost, no pun intended, "I'll Wait".
