Small problem with wireless

I rarely use my wireless unit, which is an EV R2 true diversity. The problem I have when I do use it is, that it makes a lot of "swooshing" noise, mostly when I face in different directions. Not sure why it's doing that... and yes, it has a new battery in it lol. I'm sure it's something so freakin' simple to fix (like throw it in the garbage).

I think you have to define "swooshing" a little more. Is it like a 60-cycle hum sound? Is it like a flange? Is it like facing your guitar against a TV that's on?
