    Default Wah pedal suggestions

Any suggestions on a good wah pedal? I've been in the land of digital amps (line 6 vetta and pod xt live) for over 5 years and I've just returned to using a tube amp again (H&K Triamp) and all analog stomp boxes. But I need to get a wah pedal. Had a Bad Horsie a long time ago that was ok but not what I want in a wah pedal. The samples I've heard of the Slash Crybaby sounds cool but I'm afraid of too much feedback from the distortion option on it. Any help would be apperciated.

Get a Budda Bud Wah. Nice sound, very vocally, true bypass, and it's cheaper than the 'boutique' wahs out there. Personally, I'd stay away from Dunlop stuff. Vox V-847 is also good if you true bypass it, but for around $120.00-$140.00 used, a Bud Wah is unbeatable.

The Budda Wah is awesome. I've used a Crybaby, Vox, modded Vox, and finally found the budda. It's one of the few wahs that really works well with a lot of gain. Most wah's will be very vocal and obvious with a clean tone, but then the effect disappears a little when you pile on the distortion. The Budda is really strong in both applications.

i tried the crybaby slash and wasnt at all impressed, right now i'm using a morley bad horsie but u already said it wasnt your bag.
i've tried the budda and i can agree with what others have said about them, they are VERY good at most applications and i plan on shelling out for one in the future....so try a budda i think like most others you'll be suitably impressed

It's not that I dislike the bad horsie it's that I want to maybe try something different. But I've just remembered that the bad horsie has the switchless on/off option on it which I really like. I might have to reconsider the bad horsie because I hate struggling to make sure a wah is on or not.

If you do end up buying a traditional wah with a switch, try this; Take the rubber bumpers of the rocker pedal, adjust the switch down a little bit, and turning it on and off is a breeze. Plus, you get a slightly wider sweep with it as well. I was doing that since I bought my first Crybaby about 15 years ago, but then Zakk Wylde said he did, so people think I've been copying him. Just for the record, I thought of it first (LOL). I also envisioned the D-Tuna around 1993, but didn't know how to go about making one. Oh well.

I may get flamed for this, but I've stuck with the Bad Horsie for exactly this reason, in live situations. You can't beat the optical circut. Much less margin for error..

ditto here... unless you like putting your wah in different positions to get different sounds (which I can do with other effects), I love the fact it is spring loaded and auto switches off. It is VERY seemless in my setup.

I have tried a few cry babys and everyone had problems within 6 months

I use the Dunlop 535Q. It has different settings that allow me to change the style whenever I am playing in a dance, rock, or blues band.

Exactly. And when soloing, you only have to hit one button for your lead tone; as opposed to having to also engage the wah. Once your foot touches that baby, it on bitch!
