Gibson Sticker...

hey im building my black and white evh strat. and i heard that when eddie first built his guitar he put a Gibson sticker on the headstock and i was wondering if anyone had any pics or know if it was a silver or gold sticker or just some random sticker... pics would be cool.. thanks

Who told you that? It's a Strat-type headstock, there's nothing on it, certainly not the Gibson logo.

That is actually true! I just got done building a black and white replica. I found an article that one of the guitar magazines published sometime in the spring of 2006. He put it on the headstock (but later removed it).

I will try to hunt down the article on line. I have the link, but not on a computer that I can get to today. If I don't find it today, I'll post it tomorrow.

This isn't a bad article to go by if you are building a first generation Frankie. There are some good pictures of the original. They say they have a picture of the back of the original, but that was the only thing I could not see. This is page 4, but check out the other pages when you get to the link.

I've never heard that before. And I have that Schlitz studio poster, and I've never even noticed that. Wow. I'm going to have to look closely at it when I get home.

One other thing that you may want to review if you are doing a project.

When it comes to painting a guitar, look for Dino5150 on this board. Check out the thread for M1 Lynch Wolfgang Project. It is a newer thread and I asked Dino a lot of questions about his finish. The guy does AMAZING work and he has a website you should check out, as well.
