vh's "weird" songs...
for a stadium/MTV rock band ,VH sure made some of the most uncommercial/weird tracks Ive ever heard:
Sunday Afternoon In The Park
Intruder
Strung Out
Spanish Fly
there's others...totally off the wall. all the better for it as well IMO

yeah, agreed.
How Many Say I is maybe weird for VH, but its not a weird track per se, its got a melody/lyrics/ verse-chorus-verse thing going on
Inside is definitely unusual, but Source of Infection I dont think is that weird - fair enuff if you do - but to me I would class that as a straight rocker, lol.

I suppose if you don't like something, its all weird.
While I like VH, I don't find anything they do weird. A song is a song and means something to the creator. Most of us could never dream of creating something like that. Be it music, art, a story, etc.
Granted it is all in the beholders opinion. That's what makes these board great! One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

I don't know if i'd call Spanish Fly "weird". A little off from a typical track maybe......but to a guitar player,it's great to listen to.
Loss Of Control...........weird,and just not right. Along with Tora Tora.

now by weird are we meaning... something that the radio just wouldnt play,, or instrumentals?
Non radio full songs would be:
loss of control
one foot out the door
inside
balethirium
and we all know the instrumentals...
I'd have to say weird songs that dont make sense would be:
I love 3 but most of the songs off that album really aren't structured in a radio friendly vibe, BUT I am one of the few that likes that album because it was written more artisically then radio friendly.

Crossing Over...weird, but in a good way
"Always hopeful, yet discontent,
He knows changes aren't permanent
But change is!"

I like weird, and I like it when a band branches off and tries something a little different. VH did that very conservatively from one record to the next. When I first heard it I thought "Finish What Ya Started" sounded like a departure, but now I'll argue that's one of the best Hagar-era songs. Hell, "Jump" was weird for VH fans when it first came out. Most were like: "Why is there a synthesizer panned where Eddie's guitar usually is?"

I would pick Inside and Loss of Control. Those songs are still great, don't get me wrong.

Could This Be Magic and Big Bad Bill were different from what they normally did, but were still fun songs.

Perry's wife Etty is like Yoko Ono x1000. She has weaseled her way into Janes for the last 20 years and considers herself part of the band (she has been one of the side stage "dancers"). She's...
