Default Van Halen and DLR tourbooks (1979 - 1995)

    Hi everyone,

After not looking at them for more than 5 years or so, I decided to sell my VH and DLR tourbooks. The VH ones are:

    1979 (VHII), 1980 (WACF), 1981 (Fair Warning), 1982 (Diver Down), 1986 (5150), 1988 (OU812) and 1995 (Balance).

    The DLR ones are:

    1986 (Eat'em and Smile), 1988 (Skyscraper) and 1990 (ALAE).

ALL tourbooks are in mint condition. Pictures can be found here:

    http://muziek.marktplaats.nl/overige...9.html?return=
    http://muziek.marktplaats.nl/overige...0.html?return=

    Please email/pm me when interested.

    Cheers,
    Marcel

Just curious, do bands still do tour books?
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Not too many do anymore. The last shows I went to that the bands were selling tourbooks for was U2 and Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor (NIN) seems to be among a dying breed of music artist that actually puts real effort into making his band merchandise *look* graphically appealing. Everything from the website(s) to the tour books to the shirts down to the tickets are top notch and unique in every aspect.

Most other bands don't even put any artistic effort into their tour shirts anymore. Even the print quality sucks. I actually broke down and bought a tour shirt during the LA show for Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath w/Dio) and after two washes, the printing is starting to crack and fade and holes are showing up around the collar. On the other hand, I have some tour shirts going back to 1979 - the '80's that are still holding up really well.

You know, ever since putting them up for sale at marktplaats.nl (similar to ebay), I've been thinking about that too :-) I spent a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY getting them and now I'm trying to get rid of them....

But thenagain... they were just lying there, in a box, I haven't touched them in years. Isn't that a bit of a waste?
