    Default Disney World

Just got back from a 7 day stay in Disney World. I hadn't been there since 1986 so it was really different than I remembered. We went to all 4 theme parks and enjoyed them a lot. My kids (ages 7 1/2 and 4) enjoyed themselves. I think there favorite part of the vacation was having dinner in Cinderella's Castle.

I do have to say that the employees of Disney were trained properly. Every person we talked to was polite and treated us like royalty. Kudos to Disney for making my vacation one to remember!

The Disney people are well versed in what Walt wanted. Granted, there is a lot that goes on in the company that would make Walt turn in his grave, but overall the man set the tone. And what a great man he was. I'll be there in September.

My entire family went last year, The employees were wonderful with all of the kids, my son was asleep the night before we came home and he had the biggest smile on his face and said "Mommy, thank you for taking me to see Mickey Mouse, I love you." That made the whole trip for me. It was just as much fun for all of the adults as it was for the kids.

I watched a show on Discovery today about Disney World, and it was a wonderful piece of marketing. I have some great memories of going there as a kid and as a college age adult (is that an oxymoron?) and would love to take my kids there for an extended visit. Guess it's time to hock their college funds to do so!

We're are taking the kids to WDW during an extended Florida vacation in August. My wife and I haven't been there since we were there on our honeymoon 10 years ago. We were in our twenties, so the Magic Kingdom park did seem a bit hokey and childish back then, but the other parks (especially EPCOT) were awesome. I have to agree with Raldo and the others; really impressive with the way they were run and how dedicated they were to making sure everyone has a great experience. It was definitely a far cry from some apathetic teenager holding a rope while you're waiting for a ride at Six Flags.

    Default WDW

Went two weeks ago, it was the first time for me and my 3 1/2 year old son! We both had a blast and I look forward to going again next year.

I can't imagine how much dough it takes to keep that place going every year?

I've got a three and five year old and live in Florida. I've actually been up there four time in the last six monthes with another trip planned for July. We usually go up only for a day or two though. When the kids get a little older, maybe next summer, we'll try to do a week long stay.

Most everything is first class and I highly recommend staying on the property whenever you can.

Went for my daughters 4th bday. They gave her a button wiht her name on it and it said happy bday. Every single employee at the park that saw her, wished her a happy bday. That was awesome.

I'd love to take my kids to WDW but that's not likely since it's across the country. We'll be lucky if we make it to Anaheim. I've only been there twice, waaaay back when I was a youngster. I'm trying to wait for when my youngest is a little older since it's such a big place. Plus it'll cost a small ransom just to get there and get in, not to mention all the souvenirs and pesky meals.

I really want to take my kids there tho.

My wife and I took our son, who was 5 at the time, in 2004. It was the best time we ever had as a family. I hope we'll be able to do it again before he gets to old. Every time I see a promotion for WDW I get a great feeling inside.

IMO, 4yrs old is the best age for kids to experience Disney. They are young enough to enjoy it (to kinda still believe in the magic) and old enough to remember it. As parents, watching their delight is just the best thing in the world. I still love to look at the pics of my kids at Disney. You definitely need to stay on property; I dig Dixie Landings or whatever they changed the name to.

I will be running the Disney Marathon in January 08, and the Goofy in January 09 (the Goofy is the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday - nuckin' futs, that). Registration for Goofy 08 closed within weeks, so I missed it. Heh, that many people eager to kill themselves! We get to run throught all the parks, finishing before it opens to the public. They have all the characters out in force for the runners, so everyone stops for photo opp's. Disney is a class act.

History Channel has a 2 part "Modern Marvels" episode on Disney World. It was facinating to see what goes on behind the scenes.
