Email Filter Services
Hi Folks:
There's a lot of Linkers here who use the web in a vast number of ways, hence my post with this question.
What is a good, reliable email filtering service? I have a few email addresses through my website, and since they are published to the web they have been severely "harvested" over the years to the point I am now receiving between 300-500 junk emails per day. It's been very difficult to sift through all the junk to find legitimate emails, and if someone I don't know or don't recognize immediately tries to email me there's only about a 50% chance I'll actually find it. I use Outlook Express as my email client.
A couple of years ago a filtering service was recommended to me; with it I created a "safe list" of email addresses that got through with no problems, and anyone I emailed directly was automatically added to the safe list. Anyone else trying to email had to go to a website and complete a brief questionnaire in order to be added to the safe list, thus eliminating the loads of spammers. I paid for a year of service with that company, and three months into my subscription the company folded. Something similar to that service--only one that is likely to stay functional--is about what I'm looking for.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

I've used a few that worked well, once you got them set up, but more recently I just use Mozilla Thunderbird as an e mail client, rather than bother with the extra software. Thunderbird comes with its own junk/spam detectors and you can modify the rules on how the program handles this mail. You can send things directly to the trash without even showing up in your inbox at all, if you know for a fact it's a bad address. Or you can limit mail to a "white list" of all approved senders if you want. Like the Firefox browser, it's a huge improvement over the Micro$oft counterpart.

Try http://www.spamfighter.com/ - it's the most effective method I've found so far. It plugs into Outlook and Outlook Express and skims off the crap leaving your legitimate mail intact. I've been using it for about six months now and never have to worry about spam apart from the rare occasions when it misses something.
Because most spam filters work on the basis of key words, domains and IP addresses, they're inherently unreliable. Spamfighter works in a completely different and much more effective way. Seriously, try it. Spam is a thing of the past for me now. I can't recommend this filter enough.
