I stumbled across this a few minutes ago. Was this thing actually produced and sold? Apologies if this has already been posted. I checked and didn't see it.

Taking advantage of Google's relatively new patent search capability, the Ironic Sans blog uncovered some patents by celebrities which seem almost too good to be true. But they are.

These include ones from Eddie Van Halen (Patent #4,656,917 — Musical instrument support), Michael Jackson (Patent #5,255,452— Method and means for creating anti-gravity illusion) and Marlon Brando (Patent #6,812,392 —Drumhead tensioning device and method).

And there is also this design from comedian Danny Kaye for a triple whammy blowout toy (Patent #D166,807). These inventions never went anywhere, but at least they are entertaining."
