    Default Help! iPod (5G) trouble

I have the fifth gen (black) iPod w/ video. Here's my trouble:
I have the latest iTunes running on Windows Vista. I've always had trouble since I got Vista. The computer would crash and I'd have to restart multiple times before I got the iPod to successfully sync. Well, now it just won't sync. iTunes doesn't pick it up, but Windows Explorer does. My computer doesn't crash anymore. I have tried EVERYTHING, and I do mean EVERYTHING that Apple's support site said, even called their support number. It still isn't picked up by iTunes.

    Any suggestions?

It still plays fine. iTunes plays fine. Battery charges. It just won't sync.

If I had it I would. It'd be cheaper to buy a whole new iPod than XP. This only started a couple of days ago. I've had this computer with Vista since March.

I had the same problem with my iPod; I also tried everything on the Apple support site but nothing worked. I ended up taking my iPod to the Apple store in a local mall to have them restart it. I lost all the music I had stored on it but my computer recognized it when I got home. All I had to do then was reload my music from my iTunes library. Hope this helps.........

There was no charge but mine is still under warranty. I can't imagine it would cost very much. It took maybe 10 min. for them to restore mine.
