Projekt Revolution
Welp... Just picked up my two tickets... I'll probably be the oldest perv there, but someone has to suffer so my niece can go to her first rock show...

Actually, "My Chemical Romance" are quite good.
A recomendation: Be subtle and wear dark sunglasses, so some frightened yet provacative looking young girl does not point you out to her friends (bad), her parents (worse), or the authorities (very bad).
Trust me on this."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

LP would be the only band i'd want to see on that bill (just my personal taste)... saw them open for 'tallica a few years ago at Giants Stadium (i was so close to the stage i could feel the heat from the flames during 'tallica's set)... LP is pretty good live...
MTM didn't grab me on the first listen... but it's growing on me... it's just that so much of it is very un-LP like.Runaround... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around... around...

I did!
VIP Box seats Raleigh NC Aug. 13:
MSI- very entertaining, high energy
HIM- sounded good, a lot of cool songs, ok stage presence
MSR- Great show, great performers, great songs, crappy vocals!
Linkin Park- kicked ass!! In a diferent league then the rest. Chester's voice sounds insane live. Full 100 minute set. Played every great song they have. New stuff sounded great, fit right in with the rest. Never a dull moment!!
The rest of the bands- totally forgettable!

Ahhhh... What a long HOT fucking day yesterday was in Mansfield, MA...
Here's my take on a day full of bands, I rarely hear or heard, nor have a single CD of...
__Revolution Stage__
Madina Lake; Good, typical modern music ie flavor of the year, tolerable...
Styles of Beyond; missed this set
The Bled; two thumbs down, and can I borrow yours for another two down?
Saosin; must be very popular based on the crowd... see Madina Lake
Mindless Self Indulgence; Umm, wow... The standout act of the night... Although it's nothing NEW, sassy, brassy punk alas Johnny Rotten, it was the most different offering of the day... AND that made them a notch above the rest... Oh and the bass player is smoking sexy... Also, dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and big sunglasses, the singer from MCR was sitting behind the monitor board watching the whole set... Nobody seemed to notice...
__Main Stage__
from first row after the pit, center stage...
Julien-K; Cool classic (early 90's), keyboard/rock act...
Placebo; Not so cool (early 90's), british keyboard/rock act, with a creepy little bastard lead vocalist and a creepy tall sidekick-bastard on guitar/bass...
HIM; Heavy deep riffs, the gaunt-faced frontman who could have replaced Layne Staley, in both vocals and heroin-ravaged skin and bones body just stood still staring into the monitors (teleprompters?) and going through about two packs of cigarettes... With the way the rest of the band made eye contact with one-another, all I could think of during this whole set is that all the other guys in the band were just hoping the singer will make it alive to the next show...
Taking Back Sunday; Another crowd favorite... Knew few of the songs... I guess the older of the newer modern music bands...
My Chemical Romance; Excellent stage show, on par with metal stalwarts Motley Crue... However, the singer sucks LIVE... Clearly a studio vocalist and not good on the stage...
Linkin Park; Pure rock and roll show headliners... Awesome live show... Unlike Gerard from MCR, Chester delivers live JUST LIKE he is on the CD... Unfuckingbelievable he can scream/sing like that all night... Great, great show my LP, and the last song (Bleed It Out) was a killer night closer...
My 14 yo neice was clearly spoiled for her first rock concert event... <LOL>"Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.” -- Gen. George S. Patton

got some photos coming soon from the show at the tweeter in mansfield, ma...good show. i missed most of it due to jury duty but Him was a lot better than I expected. Taking Back Sunday was kind of generic. My Chemical Romance was decent...Im not a big fan of theres but the kiddies loved them. Linkin Park stepped up their game, real good high energy set

Yes I went a few weeks ago. Mindless Self Indulgence was awesome.. not musically.. but entertaining. HIM ... sucked... only knew one of their songs. The guy looked stoned... all the teenage girls sure like him though! TBS was pretty good actually... MCR... Welcome to the Black Parade was done well... lots of pyro.. but when the lead singer started asking "only the boys" to take off their shirts and sling them around... I got a funny feeling! Then to top it all off... he kissed his guitar player on the lips... like a long kiss!!!!!!!! LP rocked! I posted the set list in the LP thread here. Def wear black... and you wont be the old man there I promise! There were tons of people there older than me! Even a few grandparents!

haha, no that wasn't me. I was not the kid with the long black hair. I felt bad for him. I have a crappy camera compared to most but his was worse than mine and crapped the bed so he didn't even shoot Linkin Park. Poor kid.

Fuck hiring. They just need to cut out the deadwood. Push/Force lower paid talent to take up the slack or be gone also. It will still be the same anti conservative meeting spot. Just new,...
