Default VH Spin Magazine US Fest Lookback

In the Spin Magazine in stores now (with festivalpalooza on cover) there's an article looking back at the US Fest. the 25th anniversary is upon us. anyway, there's some VH stuff in it, some photos, etc. Ozzy says he doesn't even know why VH went on stage cause they were so drunk. Someone else says they were all drunk but since Dave ran 10 miles a day he was in OK shape whereas Ed, Al, and Mike looked wiped out. There's a great photo of a sign posted at the entrance to VH's backstage area that says: "No virgins, No Journey Fans, or sheep allowed."

It's classic. makes ya think of the good ol' days when VH was the shit.

Can you imagine how hard it would be for any band not to be drunk after an all day DRINKING PARTY with all the bands before you?

The US Fest is a classic event for VH History, end of the story.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone

"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

As flawed as some of the moments were, I still listen to the concert and think it sounds badass.

I agree, it was more of a big party celebrating rock n' roll than an attempt by the bands to be note for note perfect. At the time VH was called the "Ultimate Party Band" and they lived up to it.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Wish I coulda went to the show but had to settle for the radio simulcast and interviews. The live VH tuneage was great, drunk or not. I taped it on my good ol' cassette recorder but the tape is aging as fast as I am.

    God I miss those days.

That was back when they were the Mighty Van Halen and Edward was picking up the MVP every year from the rock mags.

I think I need to break out some tuneage.

Somebody get me a doctor' was an awesome jam; especially with ed and al trading licks and whatnot. Even 'dancin in the street' was cool. liked eddie's riff to end that one!
