No Child Left Behind, in Rio Grande...
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A Rio Grande High School senior with powerful parents is scheduled to graduate Tuesday night. Some teachers, parents and students said they are upset because the Albuquerque Public School district ordered the school to change the student's failing grade.
The student failed his senior English class. It is a required course students must pass in order to walk across the stage and get their diplomas at The Pit, Action 7 News reported.
Sources told Action 7 News the senior's mother is Bernalillo County Commissioner Teresa Cordova. His father is former vice president of the APS school board, Miguel Acosta.
A representative for APS said the student's teacher and the Rio Grande High School principal refused to alter the failing grade. An APS supervisor looked at the senior's work and decided he made the necessary progress to graduate. The district then ordered the grade changed.
Some students claim it is not fair and said the student's connections are the only reason he is graduating.
Rio Grande parent, Deidre Crosby-Stevenson said, "We are teaching these seniors that it is not what you know, but who you know, that will get you ahead, and that is not the lesson we need to be sending our new adults out into society with."
APS officials said all parents have the ability to advocate for their students, and the district is now looking at the other 40 Rio Grande High School seniors on the failing list to see if any others should be allowed to graduate.
The teachers' union plans to file a grievance."Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.” -- Gen. George S. Patton

If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

So the kid can't pass basic english comp, but since he's got connections he graduates anyway and will probably go into politics via mommy and daddy, get into a position of power thanks again to mommy and be in a position to influence laws and peoples lives. And the dumbfuck can't spell his name. What a country. Reminds me of how our current president came to power.

Believe me, APS is spittin' out brainiacs one after the other anyway. Example?-see below. Albuquerque is one more meth lab and illegal alien away from being a full blown 3rd world country.
Defecating burglar gets 5 years
Jovan Martinez at Thursday's sentencing
A man who officials say would break into people’s homes while they were asleep, rob them and then defecate on their floors was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday.
Jovan Martinez, 21, still faces trial for additional burglary charges.
“I felt it was fairly brazen,” said one of Martinez’s victims, Jerry Eichel. “When the police called it a home invasion, I got very nervous at that point.”
Albuquerque Police Department Deputy Chief Kevin McCade said that Martinez’s action displayed “a level of arrogance.”
“In some cases he would touch the victims themselves while they were sleeping in bed,” said McCade. “In other cases he was defecating in their homes.”
When Martinez was arrested last February for a wave of Northeast Heights burglaries, his name and face were familiar to police.
In 1992 at the age of 12, Martinez pleaded guilty to dropping a cinderblock off an Interstate 40 overpass. It went through a truck driver’s windshield causing him to lose control of his rig and fatally crash into an embankment.Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

One more example I just couldn't pass up.
Tagger burned at substation dies
An 18-year-old man who received serious burns while spray painting graffiti inside an electrical substation on Wednesday has died.
Aaron Vigil had been in critical condition at a Phoenix burn center. He suffered burns over 70 percent of his body.
Assistant Fire Chief Ted Bolleter said that Vigil suffered from both electrical shock and from his clothes catching on fire.
The substation supplies electricity to 5,800 houses in the area and about 115,000 volts of electricity flow into the substation through high-voltage wires.
Jeff Buell of Public Service Company of New Mexico, which owns the substation, says that it is clearly marked.
In order for Vigil to enter the substation he had to climb over a 15-foot wall topped with razor wire.Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
