Spoiler Alert: Some Season Finales for 2007 TV Season...

Don't say I didn't warn you, spoilers included, although none are exactly earth- shattering .

The buzz is low-key as TV season wraps without fanfare

    By Mekeisha Madden Toby
    The Detroit News
    Posted May 9 2007

For a May sweeps and finale period, the buzz is surprisingly low-key. Sure, fans are anticipating the exciting season wrap-ups of 24, Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, and in some small, still-loyal circles, Lost, but the high drama of Mays past is missing.

Wave goodbye to 7th Heaven, The King of Queens and Gilmore Girls for good, but that's where the sense of overall finality ends. Of course, none of us knows the fate of Veronica Mars and other on-the-fence series, but that actually makes the season finales for these shows a bit exciting.

    Where they stand :

    DRAMAS

Jericho (Tonight, CBS): One of the town's leaders will die.

Supernatural (Thursday and May 17, CW): The two-part season finale airs over two weeks and involves the guys' presumed-dead dad (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Grey's Anatomy's ill-fated Denny).

Without a Trace (Thursday, CBS): The team searches for a teenage girl who has joined a cult.

Ghost Whisperer (Friday, CBS): A prophet ghost visits Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) with bad news.

Crossing Jordan (May 16, NBC: Bug (Ravi Kapoor) and Lily's (Kathryn Hahn) life-altering sub-plot thankfully continues to overshadow Jordan (Jill Hennessy).

Medium (May 16, NBC): Allison (Patricia Arquette) has another vision, but does she know if the psychic drama will be returning in the fall?

Smallville (May 17, CW): Lana (Kristin Kreuk) tells Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) their marriage is over.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (May 17, CBS): The miniature killer's identity is finally revealed.

Grey's Anatomy (May 17, ABC): Will Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Burke (Isaiah Washington) get married? Probably not - and that's not the only rumored surprise. Keep an eye on George (T.K. Knight), for one.

ER (May 17, NBC): A new doctor (guest star Stanley Tucci) in the E.R. is all business.

Law & Order (May 18): A possible swan song for the series; there are whisperings that D.A. Arthur Branch (possible presidential candidate Fred Thompson) is out regardless of the show's fate.

Desperate Housewives (May 20, ABC): Bree (Marcia Cross ) and Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) return to Wisteria Lane for Gaby's (Eva Longoria) big wedding day.

24 (May 21, Fox): In two hours, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) attempts to save a world threatened by nukes and presidential assassinations.

Heroes (May 21, NBC): With Hiro (Masi Oka) traveling through time, will the world and pal Ando (James Kyson Lee) be saved?

Veronica Mars (May 22, CW): The two-hour season finale could mark the end of the sleuth series, when Veronica (Kristen Bell) finally deals with her feelings for Logan (Jason Dohring).

Law & Order: SVU (May 22, NBC): Chris "Ludacris" Bridges reprises his role as Odafin "Fin" Tutuola's stepson (Ice-T). But this time, the stepson has been accused of murder.

Lost (May 23, ABC: Jack (Matthew Fox) devises a plan to destroy The Others.

House (May 29, Fox): Foreman (Omar Epps) is leaving, but before he goes, he and the others on the medical team must help House (Hugh Laurie) cure an illegal immigrant from Cuba.

    COMEDIES
My Name Is Earl (Thursday, NBC): Earl (Jason Lee) has it all - good karma, a GED, a job, a new apartment. And now with his new, unlikely love interest, the lovable loser is finally an adult. Nothing can stop Earl on his road to maturity ... except, of course, Earl himself.

Everybody Hates Chris (Monday, CW): Kelsey Grammer (yes, Frasier) directs the finale titled "Everybody Hates the Last Day."

How I Met Your Mother (Monday, CBS): Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily's (Alyson Hannigan) big day goes awry.

Two and a Half Men (Monday, CBS, Channel 62): Charlie (Charlie Sheen) and Alan (Jon Cryer) confront their daddy issues.

The Game (9 p.m. Monday, CW): Melanie (Tia Mowry) comes to an emotional crossroads in her relationship with Derwin (Pooch Hall) on what could be the at-risk show's last hurrah.

Ugly Betty (May 17, ABC): Betty (America Ferrera) and Henry's (Christopher Gorham) relationship heats up big time.

The Office (May 17, NBC): Michael (Steve Carell) could be leaving the company, but then, there would be no show.

Scrubs (May 17, NBC): J.D. (Zach Braff) continues to question his true feelings for Eliot (Sarah Chalke) who is making her way to the altar to marry another man.

    REALITY SHOWS
Amazing Race (ended Sunday, CBS); Survivor: Fiji (Sunday, CBS); America's Next Top Model (May 16, CW); Dancing with the Stars (May 21 and 22, ABC); The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman (May 21, ABC); American Idol (May 22 and 23, Fox).

    SERIES FINALES
The King of Queens (Monday, CBS): After nine seasons and more than 200 episodes, Doug, Carrie and Arthur (Jerry Stiller) are calling it quits. But could Doug (Kevin James) and Carrie (Leah Remini) be expecting?

7th Heaven (Sunday, CW): Eleven seasons of family-friendly television come to an end.

Gilmore Girls (Tuesday, CW): We'll say farewell to our favorite Stars Hollow residents as Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) come to an understanding and Rory (Alexis Bledel) graduates from college.

Studio 60 is back after sweeps. I'm guessing they'll show the ones they have left before its official cancellation.

    Here's what SHOULD happen:

    DRAMAS

Jericho (Tonight, CBS): Turns out, the one who smel't it, dealt it.

Supernatural (Thursday and May 17, CW): The brothers investigate how Pee Wee Herman's career has seemingly returned from the dead.

Without a Trace (Thursday, CBS): The team searches for Keven DuBrow's hair.

Ghost Whisperer (Friday, CBS): A prophet ghost visits Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) with bad news. Turns out that the ghosts are only attracted to her because of her tits.

Medium (May 16, NBC): Allison (Patricia Arquette) has another vision, she sees herself put on weight thus forcing NBC to name the name of the show to "Large".

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (May 17, CBS): The team finds itself in deep trouble when the cause of death turns out to be the autopsy.

Grey's Anatomy (May 17, ABC): What does George tell, Izzie? What does George tell Callie? What does Meredith tell Derrek? What does Derrick tell Addison? What does Addison tell Alex? What does Christina tell Preston? Is it about what George tells Izzie?

ER (May 17, NBC): George Clooney is still no longer on the show.

24 (May 21, Fox): In two hours, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) flies around the country kicking the crap out of people who've bad mouthed this season's weak story-line.

Law & Order: SVU (May 22, NBC): Detective Stabler beats the crap out of Micheal Jackson.

Lost (May 23, ABC: Jack rescues the castaways after he discovers that they've been trapped on a Disney World adventure.

House (May 29, Fox): A guy comes into the hospital, he tells House that it hurts when he does this. House tells him "Don't do that". Later, a nurse asks House why he's got a thermometer behind his ear, to which House has to track down the asshole that has his pen.

I'm so out of touch with TV. I don't watch any of those shows except My Name Is Earl and The Office; I've not kept up with either, though. (DVDs are wonderful.)

Baseball, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report are my TV.
