2,000

This is post 2,000 for me. I've been poking around the Links for many years, but I didn't actually join until last fall. The Guitar Room was an afterthought, as I originally just wanted to communicate about VH stuff and not partake in "one of those geeky gear snob chats."

I'm a geeky gear snob, and I'm proud of it.

A significant number of my 2,000 posts have been here--communicating about projects, discussing gear, sharing opinions, fighting about stuff, talking about my 14,000 Wolfgangs, etc. Guitar "projects" are a relatively new things for me. In fact, for having played now for almost 22 years, I didn't actually care much about the construction of a guitar or its materials until maybe eight or nine years ago. Nonetheless, I'm now fascinated by the details, and this place has been awesome for seeking ideas, info, help, and the like. Plus there's some great players here.

So post 2,000 is a special Thank You to all in the Guitar Room.

PS - Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey is my favroite movie. Maybe I should've waited one more, eh?

Andrew, you missed the 'golden age' of post milestone threads. Back in the day there were several topics every month that went something like...

Congrats, AT! When I saw "2000" in the title, I just assumed it was the number of Wolfgangs you've bought and sold over the years...

Seriously, it's always fun talking shop with you. BTW, the "Wolfenstein" (special neck + standard body) that I cobbled together a few weeks back is the best playing Wolfgang I've ever played. Thanks for your advice on that one...

I thought maybe "2000" was what the cost of you finally gettin' your hands on a first year quilt or something having to do with a production run of guitars...

Okay, this one cracked me up. I was actually a little worried I was being a little dramatic with my symbolic #2,000 post. "Sam's wife for being kinda hot..."

I enjoy the guitar room myself and have for years. Back in 2002 homeunit and tribb helped a lot in suggestions on a guitar i had made.

How much more work on music, guitars, the house, etc. could I have been doing?
