Roadtrip in U.S this summer! (We are swedish)

Hi guys, i'm about to make a roadtrip in America with my friends from 15th of june to 15th of july.

They are 21 and here comes the tricky part. I'm from sweden got a swedish ID-card which tells that I am 19 years old, which I am.

If i tried i could get a fake ID from sweden, not that hard.

My question is now. Do you think there are any big risks to do this? And if you do, please tell me what I should know about this.

Is it worth for me to follow them on their roadtrip if the risks are too bad, and I follow them with my real ID which tells i'm 19?

Use your real I.D. obviously, but if you wanna have a few beers when you're in the States then use the fake one...What's the problem...???

Yeah thats sounds like a hell of a idea. The thing is, I don't have a fake I.D at the moment. But i'd get one, but i wanted to hear with you who live in the U.S what risks there are.

I mean how big is the possibility that someone find out? When it comes to casinos and shit like that =)

Thats what they say, atleast my friend which lives there, but I want some more reliable sources.

Too damn bad that VH fucked up the tour this summer, this was my lifetime oppertunity. I mean, why should they come to Europe, when they can't make a summertour in the U.S..?

I can't see a whole lotta bars and liquor stores here having the inclination or resources to spot a fake SWEDISH ID. A local ID yes, but I think you'll be cool with using the phony one. Just make sure ya look 21, and if you have Swedish chicks traveling with you, use them to your full advantage.

Oh and do us a favor and don't go driving on our roads after you get lit up. We have enough trouble with the local dipshits pulling that crap.

Actually, you will most likely be out of luck. I bartend here in San Francisco one night a week and it is our bars (and most others here) policy to only accept a passport. The reason being is because foreign ID's are too easy to fake and we're not able to easily tell the difference (like LLFHS said above). So unfortunately, I would say you're out of luck. Then again, you never know...

Ofcourse its a risk. But I mean, I was in NYC for 2 years ago with my parents, its nice and so, but when your 19 and travel with people which is 21 years old..

Do you think its worth to just roadtrip around the U.S without being 21? I mean, are there more "funny" things you can't do if your not 21?

When you say 'funny' things, you mean illicit or degenerate things, probably. Gambling, whores, and drinking? Unfortunately, the one 'must-see' place many people like to visit, Las Vegas, you cannot have as much fun as others of legal age if you're not 21, though you can certainly come close if you know where to go and what to do instead. Plus, the casinos aren't exactly balls to the wall about carding people...just pray you don't hit a million dollar jackpot, 'cause then you'd have to pony up some real ID.
