hell man,
back in 1998, MTV Brasil sent a VJ to interview VH for the release of VH3 here in brasil...
needless to say, the VJ asked lots of stuff about the new cd, the former singers, the new set list on the shows... bla, bla, bla...
but in one moment, the VH asked Eddie what did he think about Apollo 440's version of Ain't Talkin''Bout Love... since it was very heavy/techno oriented... Eddie replied:
"well, i never heard it... as long as they gave us credit for the sampling... that's fine with me..." and in that moment, Gary took the microphone and said:
"well, we all liked it... actually, the next VH album will be techno, maybe industrial... with lots of sampling..." and he looked the camera with a sarcastic look... obvially he was making fun of the situation...
funny that his TOJ album is very techno/industrial oriented... this just came to my mind now and i wanted to share that with you...
rock on!!!=\//-/= LIVE: once again, i'll make it!!!

Achievements:
and ya know, I heard a rumor a while back (from a name we havnt heard of in a while), that Ed was working out a kind of tecno- guitar instrumental. Interesting, because this was about a year ago that I heard this.

Joe Satriani's newest album is kind of techno and it sounds pretty good but I wouldn't want Van Halen to do a techno album.

Why doesn't the mainstream listening population have any appreciation for straight forward blood, sweat and tears guitar work anymore? All this techno-electronic crap thats being used nowadays on recorded guitar work sounds so robotic and sterile to me that it lacks any soul, guts, or personality. I want to be grabbed by the playing of a guy that picks up a decent guitar, plugs into a Marshal stack, and proceeds to fuckin' wail with all the heart and soul he can muster. Then I'll be struck by that rush of power. That's why I love Van Halen!

It's not all crap. It just depends how it is done. Motley Crue did some cool shit back in '94. The most successful artists (not financially) out there who have done the rock/ techno/ industrial thing are Tommy Lee (Methods of Mayhem) & John Corabi.

I'm not a big fan of techno or industrial types of music. I only want some kick ass rock and roll from Van Halen. That is what they do best!

hey Wolfman,
i'm cool man... it's been a while since i don't post on the main forum... i'm more at the bootleg corner lately... how about you???
hey guys, i must have brought a wrong view to the topic... what i'm saying is that it's funny to see Gary 3 years ago making fun of samplers and techno sounds and now he's releasing new material that contains this type of sound...
techo music doesn't touch me, don't worry =\//-/= LIVE: once again, i'll make it!!!
