Charvel EVH art series discontinued

It's official.
Soon to be revealed the new Fender Wolfgang.
The new amp will be presented at summer Namm.
Those infos came from a friend who works at Fender.

thank goodness, you really didnt hear too many great things about the art series outside of the people who bought them who were ed heads anyway. They didnt get outside of that market, which I guess they were never intended to in the first place, but something that I loved about the wolfgang and the EBMM EVH is that people outside the edhead market would buy them because they were quality instruments that could do more than look like Eddie and sound like Eddie. The art series was an unabashed cash grab at the 35 and older Edhead market, I really wanted the RBW one to play around with at my house, but then again, I couldnt justify that purchase when law school is fricken expensive...

Thanks for the info. Any word why the Charvel Art Series were discontinued? I'd heard before they would be renamed under the new EVH Gear. So is it that they're being discontinued or just "shifted" to the new company?

I'm quite curious about the new Wolfgang. It'll take quite an effort to get me away from my Peaveys, but I'll be interested to see what potential changes/improvements have been made.

I was seriously considering law school a few years ago but decided I didn't want to be away from music for three straight years. Since then I've bought LOTS of guitars. Coincidence?

They were being sold as the "Charvel USA Eddie Van Halen Limited Edition EVH Art Series" anyway. It would be interesting to find out how many were made.

I saw that earlier- wow $25,000.00. American Musical Supply is suppose to have a replica also.

One of the boutique guitar shops in the Twin Cities got one (or is getting one), and I've been tempted to go see what it looks like in person. I wonder if they'd let me play it... or look at it... or ask about it.

I hope the new Wolfgang is coming out and that it is AFFORDABLE. Eddie hasn't had a realistically priced guitar on the market since '04.

Interesting. I think the art series is a decent guitar, it's just not as versatile as the Wolfgang or EBMM.

Discontinuing the art series is probably a good move. It developed some initial buzz, and will keep them somewhat rare.

I am anxious to test drive that new amp.

The EBMM is the best guitar Ed ever endorsed. The Peaveys were inconsistant. Some were great, some sucked. None of them sounded as good as an Ernie Ball.

I am guessing this will be lower quality than the EBMM and Peaveys and more expensive. (If you go by what they did with the Art Series)
