BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) — Three Baldwin County juveniles reported this week that they drank bleach before taking drug tests in attempts to skew results, but authorities said drinking the liquid won't affect the test.

"Apparently, there is a rumor going around that you can drink bleach to pass a drug test. That is simply not true," Maj. Anthony Lowery of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office said.

Circuit Court Judge Carmen Bosch said paramedics responded to a teen at the county courthouse who collapsed after his juvenile court hearing Wednesday afternoon.

Bosch said the juvenile fainted because he hadn't eaten, but he told paramedics checking him out that he drank bleach earlier in the week to throw off a pending drug test.

He said the young man, who is about 17 years old, was given food and removed from the courtroom on a gurney as a precaution. The teen was not identified because he is a minor.

Lowery said two juveniles told their probation officer earlier this week that they consumed some bleach in to pass drug tests.

He said the juveniles, who ultimately failed their drug tests, were transferred to the Baldwin County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
