Any recommendations for dinner/bars/clubs, etc? Ones that a few dudes can actually make it into (without paying a bouncer or whatever)

Sorry Zorba. I wouldn't go there on a bet, and it has been years since I've even ventured near the place. Wickett and Menlow are more than likely going to tell you the same.

Watch your alcohol consumption unless you guys are not driving. Seriously, as the cops are not the only ones keeping an eye on you, if you get the drift.

Be safe, keep your eyes open and have a great time.

Joe's Crab is the best seafood restaurant I've ever been to. It's a little pricey but worth it. Excellent place to spot famous people too.

I didn't go "clubbing" like in the Paris Hilton sense, but The Clevelander is a great sports bar.

Gloria Esteafan's restaurant/nightclub, Bongos, is great. It's located in American Airlines arena.

Yep, not really my scene either. I was down there a few months ago to see Artie Lange but didn't hang out past that. Last time I had dinner down there was at Touch a few years ago. Overrated and overpriced, ( I did see Brian Grant there at the next table.)

On the positive siide, there are a number of hot looking women walking around there.

I just realized that Artie is performing again in Miami tonight. Is that by chance why you'll be there?

I haven't been there in over a year. Last time I went, we took some clients to Mangos, which is ok if you like latin women dancing on the bar (I'm ok with it).

The biggest pain in the ass is traffic and parking. Get there early or be prepared to get gouged for parking, or driving around for 30 minutes waiting on a spot.

I spent most of my time in town at the Hard Rock in Hollywood. There's class II gambling (TX hold 'em, no other table games) and the slots. Never gambled much, but the center bar is almost always hoppin, and the scenery is usually pretty good.

There's a couple of "table service" clubs on the grounds that I never went into. Not much of a "clubber". They also have a duelling piano bar, bar next to a chopper bike shop, high end billiards bar, and a psuedo Irish pub (Murphy's Law) that usually has a live band on Weekends (this is where I spend 80% of my time and beer money). And finally, there's an Improv there, as well.

For most places, plan on spending a chunck of change on drinks (Bass Ale was usally $6 a pint at Murphys, unless it was happy hour). The biker bar and the center bar usually have a special on buckets of bud and bud light (it's been a while since I've been in town, not sure if they still do it).

If you plan to go to HRC, get there early. Parking is free, but traffic is a byotch after 8pm or so (of if there's a show at the Hard Rock Live).

Probably too much information for a place you weren't planning on going to, anyway, but what the hell .

Have a good time and be safe.

Hard Rock is more my speed as well but the traffic/parking is so bad on the weekend it's almost not worth it.

Don't forget, the fucking Air and Sea Show is in town this week as well. The traffic sucks at the best of times here. Imagine this weekend!

Particularly if one is is the water, as the disturbing 50X200 yard yellow "cloud" in the water is less than ideal for swimming.

Not to mention the Fort Lauderdale Police used for crowd control allowing their horses to defecate in the shallow water.

Clevelander, Pelican Bar,Tides are cool spots with no cover. Clevelander does have a cover after 10PM though. My advice: get to South Beach early, and avoid Fort Lauderdale Beach(Air/Sea show) this weekend at all cost. Although there will be literally thousands of hot broads wearing skimpy bikinis in Lauderdale.

Or there may be some broads with no bikinis (at least the top half) on South Beach! They still do that?
