Thanks !!
of course I would like to know who the bass player is. We should assume then that the drummer is the same as the 99 Tour with Dave ?
We shall see, good to get a lil insight from Bart.

That would be cool. Kind of hard to imagine Bart saying that Mike needs some work to learn a VH set though.Delusions of eloquence

Mike playing with Dave would be a nice big FUCK YOU to Eddie. I'm all for it.
I think Eddie is dragging his feet and doesn't want to play anymore. In that case he should just announce his retirement and stop fucking with us.

Does anyone know if there is anything in Michael's contract with the Van Halen Brothers which would prevent him from doing this? I dont see why Michael should have to sit home because Eddie is? Ive never heard of Michael doing ANYTHING solo in his career. I think it would be great. He doesnt have to say FUCK YOU which I doubt Michael would ever do being the great guy he is,but it could be "call me when you're ready to do something Ed." Of all the people in this deal who are getting screwed the most I have to think its Mike.

Could the writing have been on the wall..?
Remember in the Right Now video, there is the part that has, "Right Now, Mike is thinking of a solo album..." or something to that affect. What a kawinky dink...

It ain't Mike; it's the guy from White Lion. But think of how bad it would look if Mike DID play with Dave. Not only would VH not have a singer, their bass player would be moonlighting. Just the kind of press those guys want right now.
Onto a related note...it was MIKE that told us "it's a name we all know" about a year ago, and look how nicely THAT has panned out. I am getting sick of seeing everyone rave about how he's the only 'cool' one in the band-HE started alluding to Dave being in the band a LONG TIME AGO, and also has done nothing to discourage the rumors. He is just as 'guilty' as Ed or Alex, if not more so, since he really added momentum to the reunion rumors.Don't bark at me...I didn't name ya.

What is so stupid about it JMJ? There is no Van Halen currently so what's wrong with a side project with Dave, IF mike were actually to do this. If Van Halen is history, Mike has to sell his new bass somehow and what better way than on tour. As for Mikey's remark about the singer earlier in the year, Well we were all under the impression that an anouncement concerning the reunion was coming soon and that it would be Dave. Can Mike be faulted for believing what Ed says is true? Eddie said it too didnt he? I believe Ed said,"We're working on some great stuff." Maybe they were and it all fell aapart. At least Mike showed up at the convention. Which is more than I can say for any of the other members of Van Halen, who could care less about their fans. Guess you hit a nerve with that Mike comment huh?

Wait a minute.......are you saying that you doubt that Dave is back in VH?
---->I have no evidence to suggest that he's in. Only rumor. And rumors are just that. Sound at all familiar? I think they tried a reunion and the results were unsatisfactory.
This is just a summer tour. Mikey said they'd be touring in the Fall.
--->If Dave is on the road this summer, hasn't been working with the band since last July, and those 3 tracks 'probably' won't be released, they have a LOT of work to do, and quickly, before they can even think about a tour. Fall 2002 maybe.
Dave's just doing this to keep himself busy, IMO. No way that man can sit still for this long. He's gotta be on the road.
----->If there WAS a reunion going on, there would be new songs to write and record. If it is a greater priority of Dave's to do this little summer stint than to work with VH, then he needs some help. He's had a LONG time to sit still, why would he get itchy to do shows now?

Let me ask you this Michelle: VH was working with Dave last July. It was last July when Brad Starks unveiled the 'NEW' official website design, which was touted as having all sorts of new stuff. Honestly, there was almost nothing new about the site except its appearance. Now, the way the new site was promoted and led up to suggested that, when the users got there for the first time, they were in for a real treat. 99% of the people who looked that day expected an announcement that Dave was back. When we saw the site, we got nothing. It was a lot of hype on Brad's part that HE did not live up to. Was this all a pure coincidence? Or did Brad know that they were working with Dave again and failed to follow through?
Part of VH's silence is blamed on Brad, and rightfully so. He is the only 'direct' liaison between the fans and the band. I don't buy his mushroom act. The timing of the new site design, coupled with the message from Dave, seems a bit too convenient. And then the 'pleasure dome' appears in 'Rothtober', on Dave's birthday I think? We have been hearing about Rothtober for a LONG TIME, and when the official site decides to get a message board up and running in October, things look MORE suspicious.
So, I have no good reason to think that Dave is back, or that he's EVER coming back. The events at the official site coincide with very Dave-oriented events. That tells me that Brad knows a lot more than he's willing, or allowed, to spill. One coincidence maybe, but not two within 3 months. Unless you know something (from Brad, Mike, or otherwise) that you are willing to share [my email is in the profile], as far as I am concerned, Dave is not back in VH, nor is he going to be any time soon.
