    Ted Nugent on Sammy

The Allan Handelman (www.ifitrocks.com/) show is a local radio (as well as a weekly syndicated version) talk show that deals with rock and pop culture and he had Ted Nugent on yesterday. Nugent was speaking about current music as well as some bands he like and one that he mentioned was Van Halen.

Ted went on to say (parapharsed): "Wherever in the world Sammy Hagar is on stage tonight people will be hearing some of the best rock music ever."

One more reason to like Ted.

Artistically, yes. But after getting screwed over by the Leber/Krebbs management team (and being left fairly broke as a net result, as they owned just about everything that Ted thought was his ), I don't begrudge the guy for trying to make a buck at the time. It helped him launch his fairly diversified business ventures, even if it meant having to work with that nitwit from Night Ranger.

We all make sacrifices to feed our families. Regretably in this regard, both Ted Nugent and anyone that actually enjoys music had to suffer.

For a long time I couldn't get past Nugent's political positions and occasional comments about. Then I caught him on some of that so-bad-I-had-to-watch-it VH1 show Supergroup. My favorite lines ALWAYS came from Ted; amazingly, he seemed to be the most "normal" of them all. So I like Ted now. I'd probably argue with him to death about political stuff, then hang out and joke around with him afterward.

My favorite Supergroup Ted line (when everyone was throwing out band name ideas and Sebastian Bach was trying to get them to name the group "Supergroup"): "How about Stupidgroup."

I's funny that Damn Yankees had a bit during their concerts when they would make fun of Sister Christian and Babe. Then Jack Blades ends up back with Night Ranger and right back to performing Sister Christian. Tommy Shaw ends up back with Styx and back to performing Babe, at least on the one tour with Dennis DeYoung.

It's not that surprising....they can make fun of those songs all they want....but they both know what buttered their bread.
