I was doing some web surfing and it seems DLR's DVD is going to be pretty exciting and ground breaking!

He's certainly got some great help on it like Bob Rock, Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich from Metallica, Joe Cocker, John Lowery , Bob Marlette and mega-producer and former Chic member Nile Rodgers...Plus the guys from the DLR Band...

From his quote on his website it sounds like it going to be very colorful and fun like the old VH video's.
"If you loved 'Hot For Teacher' and 'California Girlz' (and who doesn't), you'll love, love this."
Over at the 'Army there was a guy who said he saw Mike Anthony at Dave's house. Wouldn't that be cool? I bet he has some VH look alikes and he takes a little jab at them!

I hear it's going to have all new songs, some live footage, interviews, video's, etc.

This DVD sounds very creative, futuristic, and recording industry setting!

What I can't understand is why no-one is excited? ESPECIALLY the Dave-heads! If it doesn't have anything to with THE REUNION no-one gives two shit's about it.

"Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard

"......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT

" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!

But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

Um, not that it won't be wonderful, but all of the praise surrounding it comes from homebase.

Well, I'm excited about it.

Finally a DVD worth buying (sorry, not interested in the 'Van Halen Video Hits' DVD).

I think some weren't really excited about it because we didn't know a whole lot of what was going to be in it.

Now, that's clearer, I'm sure everyone is stoked.

Dave is the KING when it comes to music videos.

Hey! I got the VIDEO HITS DVD and it was worth every penny. Having a DVD with JUMP, PANAMA and HOT FOR TEACHER, as well as HUMANS BEING, was worth every penny. (I could have passed over WITHOUT YOU and RUNAROUND.) As for Dave's DVD, I'm stoked. It'll be great, although I still hope there's a reunion.

Yes and no...I guess...

It's just you can't seem to talk about Van Halen without a mention of "The Reunion", yet, here's Dave, spilling his heart and his money into this forthcoming DVD and barely a mention of it at all!

I would think more people around here would be pumped!

I think a good part of that is because a lot of DLR fans are still hoping (praying ) that Dave is going to end up back in VH, and if he does I think there's a reasonable chance that this DVD will never see the light of day. What's the release date for it anyway? Far as I know, there isn't one, so it's hard to get excited without having a target date to get excited about.

Much as some DLR fans like to throw around the 'Dave or the grave' theory, I think deep down many of them know that it's 'VH or the grave' for Dave himself.

For me, Dave has hit rock bottom, going on the road and living almost exclusively off of past material. I really hope this DVD isn't 90% live stuff from his last couple of tours. I'd like to see Dave move past that and start staking a more original claim on his solo career.

The information at the larger-than-life (well, at least larger-than-my-display-settings) davidleeroth.com doesn't inform me. As soon as I know more about it, it will be easier to get excited...

I think it'll be Dave being Dave and should kick ass! He has a lot of material to work with and he used the right people to help him. I think it'll be a retrospective with a twist and I for one can't wait!

What is the date for the DLR DVD? Sounds pretty cool. As for VH video hits, I would rather see a VH live video with DLR if thats possible....

</font>
Well I've come to the conclusion that there's a large majority of Dave fans who are more interested in arguing, fighting and name calling than they are in discussing any thing their hero is doing in real life... it's an interesting contrast that someone who portrays a total personna of fun and happy-go-lucky I live for having a good time has such a large faction of hostile fans... go figure?? Yes, and he promptly buried it. Then swerved off the original highway and into the 'nostalgia ditch'. Two tours worth of that, it's time for Dave to remember his solo years.

and he's putting another ORIGINAL album out too...along with a DVD of new material
He's putting out an album AND a DVD, both separate items? When did he say that?

and I also think there is gonna be live stuff too from the last tour...
Of course, and it'll be VH material, because that's the only thing Dave can sell.
