Graham Bonnet once considered as VH singer?

Does anybody recall hearing back in 2000 that Graham Bonnet was considered or had a try out for the vocals spot? I know we've heard lots of rumors about could've been VH singers, but this has never been mentioned (that I know of) on these boards. I remember hearing around that time that he was considered.
I think hes pretty good too.

He had a cuppla solo hits in the mid 70's. He sang one 1 album with Rainbow and was with Alcatrazz with Yngwie Malmsteen in the early 80's

never woulda worked IMO, he's got a decent voice but his image is a littel to "david bowieish" for me, I've seen him playing with Vai circa 1985 on youtube and he's got one a suit and tie with sunglasses on...I dont' know I like some of his alcatrazz music and "since you've been gone" is a great song but that's about it.

well, didn't know about this, but he could've fit in from the angle of continuing the hagar-type material... although i wonder how much he would've brought to the table songwriting-wise...

I only know of his rainbow stuff and I hated it... of course I love rainbow with dio and with Joe Lynn Turner, and this guys voice pales in comparison.

also, in the video he shot with Rainbow, he doesnt play an instrument, but use a boom on hos mic stand. Every time I saw it I laughed and said "how un-rock and roll"

Lots of people were "rumored" to be Van Halen's singer in 1996 or 2000. About the only one that was remotely entertaining was the Joey Ramone rumor.

That story even had Joey changing his name to "Joey Van Halen" (and Mikey doing likewise) and even had detailed descriptions of "secret gigs" the band supposedly played. The part about Eddie seamlessly going from "Rock N Roll High School" into "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love" was especially great.
