    Van Halen - Fair Warning
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
    Jimi Hendrix - Blues
    Van Halen 1

*Steve Stevens, however, was a fine and sorely underrated choice by the original poster.

In no order and with no VH since they'd occupy all 5 spots:

Ratt - Out Of The Cellar
Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds - Live At Luther College
    Metallica - The Black Album
    Europe - The Final Countdown
    Boston - Boston

Europe may have been another cheesy 80's band but that album has smokin' guitar work on it. In my opinion it easily has some of the best guitar playing from the 80's.

VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

    Hard to pick 5,
    VH - 2
    VH - 5150
SRV & DT - Texas Flood
The Rolling Stones - Tatoo You
    AC/DC - High Voltage

May not be technically the best 5, but all have great guitar tunes that you can roll down the windows and crank wide open.

Wasn't his name Kee Marcello? I agree, he could throw down.

I've said it before, no one played with more emotion than Stevie. There was a direct link from the heart to the head and then to the hands.

Hard to argue with that. Emotion is the perfect word to describe SRV.
