ZZ Top's "Manic Mechanic" sounds like VH's . . . ?
I know this is pretty random but . . . I was listening to the Top's Deguello CD, and I swear "Manic Mechanic" at 0:28-0:38 (and later repeated) has a clean guitar riff that sounds very similar to something Ed played on Fair Warning-Dirty Movies, Diver Down-Secrets or 1984-Girl Gone Bad, maybe? My ears tell me Ed incorporated this sound into his own repertoire, but I can't quite place it. Can someone help me? Thanks.
"With me in the band, it's one of those miraculous 97-97 deals. It's 97 percent you and 97 percent moi. Is it Mick or Keith? I don't know" -DLR
"We eventually started playing clubs, and we also did weddings. We played everything from the Ohio Players to K.C. & the Sunshine Band. You would love the sight of Van Halen doing 'Get Down Tonight'! But by the third set when everybody was good and tanked up--boy, we'd be blazin'!" -Michael Anthony

They did cover alot of ZZ Top in the club days. They even covered "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers" on the Diver Down tour.

Have Mercy, Miss Percy!!
Manic Mechanic--ZZ Top
You want to race?
If you insist.
At that price, I can't resist.
That's right, that's right, that's right.
Tonight it ain't right,
I got to have me a week.
But I'll be back for you, Jack,
and I'll let the machine speak.
That's right, that's right, that's right.
Showdown? You bet.
And I haven't saddled my pony yet.
Have mercy, Miss Percy.
I done put the coon tune on this bet.
That's right, that's right, that's right

I think that was #8 or 9 on Trumps top 10 list he put out the other day. As much as I'm seeing him on offense, I don't doubt him on it. I think in order to get it passed through house and senate...
