Kucinich Prepares Impeachment Articles Against Dick Cheney
WASHINGTON — Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich on Tuesday will announce articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney ahead of a series of protests this weekend calling for the impeachment of both Cheney and President Bush.
A spokeswoman for Kucinich, the most liberal member of the 2008 Democratic presidential candidate class, confirmed the congressman's plans but would not discuss why Kucinich was bringing up the impeachment articles now.
According to The Washington Post blog The Sleuth, Kucinich actually crafted the articles of impeachment before the Virginia Tech massacre, but held off introducing them immediately after the mass shooting.
While Kucinich is not working in coordination with pro-impeachment groups that are planning more than 100 activities nationwide this weekend, he is attending Saturday's California Democratic Convention in San Diego, where hundreds of delegates are expected to introduce an impeachment resolution against the president and vice president, said Jacob Park, national coordinator for the April 28 action.
Kucinich campaign manager David Bright said Kucinich is "doing an impeachment thing as a member of Congress but is going to the convention as a candidate" and while there, will focus on issues relating to the 2008 election. He is not a delegate and has "nothing in the schedule about meeting with supporters" of impeachment articles, Bright said.
Bright noted that Kucinich has plenty to share with the California delegates, who make up 10 percent of the Democratic national convention being held next year in Denver, but impeachment is a moot point for the 2008 campaign.
Park offered three reasons why activists can't wait until the election to be rid of the president and vice president.
"One, they misled the nation into war, an aggressive and illegal war that has obviously been catastrophic," Park said. "They are currently violating the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act" by ordering wiretap warrants without FISA court approval and they are committing torture in violation of the Geneva Conventions.
"Very few people will deny those charges whether they support impeachment or not," Park said.
But two Republicans dismissed impeachment calls as just politics, and said Kucinich hasn't got a case.
"If the political pros can't predict the charges that Kucinich would bring ... then it doesn't sound like it's justified," said Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif. "I have no idea what Kucinich would charge Cheney with."
"I think the Democrats in Congress are going to use every legislative means at their disposal to cripple this president," said Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind. "It's not surprising."
Park acknowledged that the decision to bring the impeachment resolution to the floor of the California convention is to raise the stakes, particularly since congressional Democrats, save Kucinich, are otherwise not inclined to bother.
"Bush is such a catastrophe that (Democrats) know he's just dragging the Republicans down, and if they just let Bush and Cheney go ... they are poised for 2008 and that is easier than to just hold them accountable," Park said. "April 28 is really the beginning of what we hope will be a groundswell of support and people coming out and voicing their opinion ... getting this back on the table.""Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.” -- Gen. George S. Patton

I've heard there are quite a few groups internationally who are baying for Cheney and Bush to be held accountable and charged with various things, including war crimes.
Internationally this is unlikely to ever happen since Bush has refused to sign onto the international criminal courts system, deeming that Americans would be charged for purely political reasons.
There are quite a few leaders, my own illustrious wank-rag-shit-fuck included, who i would like to at least stand up to some form of international scrutiny, preferrably with a staple gun pointed at his sack in B-liar's case.

Dennis, Dennis, Dennis.....I remember when he was the mayor of Cleveland when it was the first city to default since the Great Depression....I also spewed my coffee when I saw a Kucinich for President bumper sticker in the faculty parking lot........His latest move, however well intentioned, will sadly come to alot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

I love the fact this midget is my congressman. I do give him credit. He does reply to my letters that I send him from time to time.
He is a joke to everybody in Cleveland who is not in his district.

If the political experts can not fathom the charges that he will bring against Bush and Cheney, why in the world would he waste time, effort and more importantly tax payers money? That's what makes me mad. If the money to fund this sort of ill fated campaign was coming out of his own pocket without a snowballs chance in hell of happening, he would never attempt it. Instead we, the American tax payers, will once again fund the witchhunt for someone's head. The war was not handled correctly, we get it. Why waste more money to say it.

Kucinich used to fight for what he actually believed in. As a socialist member of congress, he was also 100% anti-abortion for his entire career...until he wanted national recognition. As soon as that happened, and the left destroyed him for his views, he caved.
Pussy.
Had he not caved into poltical pressure on that, I would have actually given him the benefit of the doubt on all his other wacky stuff. Mitt Romney, anyone?

It's stuff like this that makes me not even turn the news on anymore. It've just back and forth, back and forth between the two parties. The republicans are doing this to the democrats, the democrats are doing this to the republicans. They are just trying to one up each other and its pissing me off. Why the hell do we keep re-electing these people?

Don't watch the corporate media if it makes you sick. They won't tell you anything anyhow. Prime example, not one network newscast even mentioned the fact that Kucinich was preparing these articles of impeachment.
This isn't "one-upping' though. Kucinich isn't one to do things for "partisan" reasons, because the DLC corporatists in the party won't back him up anyway. He's doing this because he believes this Fraudministration has broken the law(s) and is a serious threat to this country. And he is correct.
There's no way that anybody in the 90's Republican party really believed that a guy getting his dick sucked threatened the country. Especially hypocrites on their own third marriage like Hyde, Gingrich, Limbaugh, etc.
If you don't agree with Kucinich, then I probably won't convince you either, but I can assure you that those of us who clearly see the damage done to this country by this Fraudministration are not acting out of partisanship, but out of genuine concern for the future of this countryEat Us And Smile

Last week I drove by an older fellow with a sign simply labeled, "IMPEACH BUSH" in large bold letters. There should be more of these signs elsewhere.
Respects.

I understand what your saying and I can completely agree that a change needs to be made, was just saying at this point I'm about sick of both parties. I once heard someone say, "I love my country, but I'm scared to death of its government" thats about where I sit right now. Kinda makes me wonder how far gone we really are sometimes. I do agree we need change, sooner than later too.
