Your Ideal Van Halen Box Set

I could swear there was a thread on this, but when I looked I couldn't find it. So, forgive me if there already is. But, I was wondering, what would be on everyone's ideal Van Halen box set?

I had Genesis' newest box set on my mind when I thought of this thread, and how they intend to release three box sets throughout the year spanning the band's entire career. I really like how it's being done. And let's say a reunion with either singer occurs and there was no inspiration to go into the studio and record new music. Instead of re-hashing the hits in another package, or remastering the albums, they can release a cool little box set. Don't understand? Here's what I had in mind:

Just a small idea I had with a little too much time on my hands, heh. What would be in your "essential" Van Halen box set.

NOTE: Forgive me if I'm historically inacurate on some dates. I do, however, know shows like Phoenix 1988 are unreleased pro-shots, courtesy of the VH Encyclopedia.

I took everything I knew that exists and put it here, and omitted things I felt didn't belong.

I know I went a little overboard, but one can dream right?

    4. original studio version of Take Your Whiskey Home circa 1974
    5. In A Simple Rhyme same as #4 above

LOL! A bonus dvd from every tour, huh? Well, nothing much to add there, we'll be lucky to get anything at this point, but it doesn't hurt to have dreams like this I suppose. Although, could you imagine how much this box set would cost?

One hell of a dream.......and a expensive dream!!!!! Eddie would put Gene Simmons to shame if he did that, he'd charge $1000 or maybe more.

If they ever do one, they'll do one like Judas Priest did in 2003 with "Metalogy", there'll be all the hits, some favorites and some rarities and live tracks and a book inside.
What is understood need not be discussed

"Dont disturb my paradise. I've asked you once. I've asked you nice" - "SERIOUS JU JU"

"I am in a blissful state. Dont bug me!!!" - Richard Dreyfuss "The Goodbye girl" 1977

I'm surprised Glenn hasn't posted here yet, he used to talk about his desire for a Van Halen box-set for years! ha ha.....

I would love to see a box set released by VH and I am sure at some point it will happen....

From a hardcore fan perspective I am a bit greedy. I don't want just a "greatest hits" type of box set. I would love to see VH release a box set much like Bon Jovi did in 2004, where the entire box set is basically all unreleased stuff.

    That would rock!

I agree with this, if they're gonna do it just put out unreleased material, there's so much stuff that has been talked about. I'm pretty sure I can name like 40 unrelased song titles off the top of my head, throw in the sammy "audition" tapes and some high quality DLR live stuff and you'd be all set as far as I'm concerned.
