2007 Sierra Nevada IPA is HERE !!!!
It's a seasonal brew and it must have just arrived today at my Safeway.
It wasn't on the shelf yesterday.
So I owe it to all the beer drinks and hell raisers here at the links to let them know it's here!
Stock up. I wish they made this all year long.
Anybody else like this brew?
I've got friends that love it too and others that would rather have a Fat Tire.
While FT is good, IMO it has to be really cold, otherwise I find it too nutty.
Sierra Nevada has been my ale since the early 90s and it so wonderful.
Beer is there anything it can't do?

Sierra's the best brew on the planet. I was weaned on the stuff in Chico during my undergrad days before the microbrewery went national.
But personally, I don't think the India matches the original pale ale for taste.

BIGFOOT will put a meth user to sleep. jk
Perhaps I'm loving the IPA, cuz it's still a SN, but a variation of what I can get all year long.
Kinda like marriage.
The beer is always great but then there's this seasonal IPA. Kinda like that night or two that she's willing to do something completely unexpected
It's a great way to start the summer.
Long live the brewer in ChicoCABOT

Is Bigfoot out right now, or did I miss it?
I try to drink that stuff at least once a year when it's in season.
Can't believe Sierra Nevada doesn't do an IPA year 'round like most other microbreweries do. IPA's are usually my second choice, right behind the Stouts.
The winter season brews are a whole category unto themselves, and Celebration Ale ranks high on my list for that.
As far as IPA's go, while I usually favor the Washington and Oregon microbreweries, some of the best IPA's are from Northern Cali.
My personal favorite IPA.......

Hey Ford,
I'm sure you have tried Stone Brewing Company's Ruination IPA. I just brewed up a clone of it because it is one of my favorites. I am only able to get it up here in Reno in 22oz. form so now I have 12 oz. bottles of it whenever I want. I'm going to brew up a keg of Dead Guy Ale from Rogue before our annual trip to Tahoe in July.
Hop Ottin' is an EXCELLENT IPA. Sierra Nevada's is very good but it is brewed in the traditional English style. I'm not a huge fan of English IPA's (even though they started the style). I like the American IPA's that came into style here in the early 80's. One of my other personal favorites is Lagunitas' IPA. It's ruthlessly delicious.

Yeah, I've only seen the 22 ounce bottles of Stone around here as well. Worse yet, the only store that carries them needs to expand their fucking beer coolers because they only keep the shit beer (Bud, Coors, etc) cold and leave the micros at room temperature on the shelf. That's not good, especially for the organic brews that aren't heat pasteurized. Tried the "Arrogant Bastard Ale" which is good, but not the IPA yet. Maybe if I can find it in a place that keeps it refrigerated.

I love IPAs & am enjoying a few (several) pints of Harpoon as we speak (quaff). Always loved the Sierra, been way to long since I partook of it (I don't feel tardy).

I polished a six=pack last night of Sierra's IPA,
yummy yummy in my tummy.
I just cracked open a regular Sierra as I want to hold on to the IPA as it's only available for a few weeks. I still have ten bottles of the Celebration left for those meals that ask for a spicey/hoppy beer.
I haven't brewed in a long while, would love to batch up a brew but it so damn easier to go to AJ's Fine Foods and get dizzy just trying to make a selection. They have so many to choose from.
I emailed the brew master at Sierra letting him know I appreciate the IPA. It's a nice change from the American style. I suggested they make it available all year long. I usually have three or four different beers in my fridge and I can certainly make room for one more.
Could fellow linkers email them too, perhaps if they see a response they may consider it.CABOT

Anybody like Pete's Summer Brew? I haven't seen it the last couple of years, but I used to enjoy it every year. To each his own, but I can't get a taste for Sierra at all.

MMMM, IPA.
Some good ones already mentioned (Harpoon, Lagunitas, Stone). I have never had the Sierra Nevada or Hop Ottin' so I'll have to be on the lookout for those.
Being from the East Coast, here are a few other IPA's I enjoy. If you haven't you should check them out.
Blue Point Hoptical Illusion (L.I. microbrewery)
Magic Hat HI.P.A. (also seasonal)
Stoudts Double IPA (10% abv)
I'm getting ready to brew a clone of Burning River Pale Ale, which isn't an IPA per se, but it is very hoppy. I've never had the real stuff, but the clone is really good!^
