I don't think this site is bogged down at all, and with all the requests I see in the guitar room....I think it would help. Better than starting new threads for a partic song, example, Jape Man asking for tab for HFT presently. Not trying to knock JM, hell he just wants a good tab. I personally have been looking for a few days for a good tab for Amsterdam, can't find one (and was thinking about asking for help the the guitar room, IE starting another thread)....some are close, most are crap.

I went to the site you spoke of and was given about ten different offerings for Amsterdam....I don't have the time or the patience to weed out the good from the bad. This being a VH site, how bout' a sticky with solid tab for every VH song. I have bought and paid for tab books that if anyone requested, I would offer up in a heartbeat, and yes they are solid.

Maybe no tab is perfect, but the books I have paid for are way more credible and accurate than 90% of the crap I see on the internet, I really don't need some 12 year olds interpretation of a great song I want to play.

No offense to you DH, I'm sure you are just giving your two cents, but I would love to find a place that had solid tab, and I think the links, well, especially for VH it should/could be the perfect spot.

what is wrong with any of those tabs being on this site?? I mean, this is the ultimate VH site from what I have seen so why do you have a problem with great VH tabs being on this site??

You can't put the tabs from those books on this web site, they are copyrighted.

Who says anybody would say where the tab came from?? Somebody requests it....somebody posts it, and claims it is their own work. Change one chord, or note, and the copyright it gone. I'm sure you have thought about the possibility of guitar tabs on this site b4, and for whatever reason you don't want to deal with it, personally I don't get it, but......'nuff said.

I hear your point, but you're asking Brett to participate in copyright infringement...

That's not your intent, but it is the result. With OLGA and other sites dealing with RIAA and publishers, that's trouble no one needs...

Better than tab may be the new Tascam guitar trianer...It's an mp3 player and you can slow actual recordings down to learn them...

Just an idea...

The very reason you just stated is exactly why I wouldn't want it on the site. People lying and violating copyright laws. The last thing I want to do is draw attention to the site with illegal tabs on it. It's not you they'd come after dude, it's me. Don't be so flippant about it.

Honestly, I have never for one second thought about guitar tabs on here. One is the legality of them, and the other is because there are plenty of sites that do a great job already.

and I have been on this site for about 10 years and have seen less than that many request for tabs

also, I have the first two VH albums OFFICIAL tabs and VAI's P&W.. both have blatant wrong tabs. the sites listed usually have someone that interprited
right, you just have to dig a little.

not that its a bad idea, but this site works better as a source for where to go, not a source to hold everything.
