Georgia emissions tests are required now for the 2004 Toyota Prius, but no matter how many times they try, they can't pass the emissions test! In this case, the Prius' computer can't communicate properly with the analyzers. The state is ordering stations to do an "Aborted Test" anyway. Then the owners have to go through some hassles and red tape to get a waiver so that they can get their new tag.

Oh, and they still have to pay the $25 even though they can't be tested! Says the serviceman in the story "No good deed goes unpunished."

Funny how I managed to pass this test back when I went to UGA. I had an old Escort and had to go to some waaaaay out back hill billy farm in rural Georgia for the test. Jim Bob and Joe Jeff said my car failed the test, but if I was a nice girl, they'd make it pass. I was pretty concerned about what they meant by "nice". Seems all I had to do was go get them a six pack. They hooked their car up to the machine and made like it was mine. Mighty nice o' them boys.
