The Best of The Wabos - The next release!!!

Sammy said hes taking this year off touring. So is Chickenfoot really the go ahead recording wise. In the meantime I thought Sammy could put out something new on the racks.
My Idea would be a Sammy and the Wabos compilation with 2 new tracks with a summer vibe to it.
I've made a compilation called "Summer of Sam" which is his best stuff from "Ten 13" to "Livin it up". What do you think?

Yep, a new album would be nice.

I'm fed up with "Best Of" sets, although I don't really have a problem with a live disc if it includes something a little different.

A full new album would be nice though.

Its funny, his 60th falls on October 13th. Whats the bet a rush release of something happens around this time, like an ep, maybe "Chickenfoot"

You're right FORD. However, most if not all, we mandated by the record companies to fulfill record deals made.

Yep. And Capitol just keeps releasing them. He really has no control over that since he's not a recording artist on the label anymore.

Geffen's been pretty good in not releasing hits collections, surprisingly. "Unboxed" is the only one I can think of at this point...

Geffen released a "Best of" called "Looking back" around 1986/87. It consisted of tracks from his first Geffen years, and it had a photo of Sammy on the front, that was from the "5150" tourbook. I'd say they released it just to gain interest for the upcoming "I never said Goodbye" album, considering he had just one Van Halen album under his belt.

He's got best of's...sure...but he has released a shitload of new material since 1996.

Sammy parted ways with capital via lawsuit, in the settlement he lost all control over anything he recorded while under capital...everytime he releases anything they put out a new "best of" to coincide with it. They've been doing this since at least the 80's, they did it with almost everything he put out with VH, there'd be a new release and "bam" new greatest hits with the same songs as the last one-red, I've done everythign for you, sittin on the dock of the bay, a few others and a live Montrose song like bad motor scooter. The only ones where Sams stood by them were unboxed and maybe the one that came out about the time BOBW came out, if I remember right he said they were gonna do it with or without him and he decided to help make it a decent product, I don't remember how much compensation he got for that one.
