For all you 'Linkers that like them pretty words...beatnik writer Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday...looks like he had some kind of brain injury from a fall he took...I read his book Slaughterhouse-Five...it was ok not a huge fan of his writing...I know a lot people think he was as relevant as ever but to me he seems to be speaking to another generation...ie the 50s and 60s...but maybe i'm wrong

    anyway here is the story

He was an incredible writer...I read most of his books and really loved all of them...in fact, my first band was called "Ice 9" an allusion to one of his books.

Damn. "Breakfast Of Champions" saved/changed my life at one time.

Vonnegut was one of my favorite writers. I have read Timequake, Bluebeard, Hocus Pocus, Cat's Cradle, and Breakfast of Champions, and Bamboo Snuff Box. Timequake being my favorite. Until I had read Cat's Cradle, I never knew where Joe Satriani had gotten the title of Ice-9 for one of his songs.

A true modern master. Literature is a far better pool because of him.

One of my favourite writers. RIP Mr. Vonnegut.
Homer: No one snuggles with Max Power. Just strap on and feel the Gs!

American Coast Guard: Back off Canadians we got them.
Canadian Coast Guard: You back off hosers, they are in Canadian waters, eh.
American Coast Guard: Beat it you puck smacking maple suckers!
Canadian Coast Guard: Take a hike you Shatner stealing Mexico touchers!

Bart: Who the hell is this?
Jack Bauer: I’m Jack Bauer, who the hell is this?
Bart: Me, er… I’m Ahmed Adudi
Jack: Chloe, get me all you can on Ahmed Adudi… Does anyone there know Ahmed Adudi?
Chloe O’Brien: Ahmed Adudi; wealthy Saudi financier… Disappeared into Afghanistan in the late 90s…
    Jack: … Really?
Chloe (ironically): No Jack it’s a joke name, you’re being set up.
    Jack: DAMMIT!

The Daily Show just did a funny, awesome short "Moment of Zen" tribute to Kurt Vonnegut to close out the show. Catch the repeat if you can!
