Used to be on vanhalen.com, but in 2004 they scrapped all the records.

I was curious to see what venues they played on their 1st tour. It seems a lot of bands have live stuff on Wolfgang's Vault (wolfgangsvault.com) from many venues in Cali (from the 70s), except for Van Halen.- even though there is some memorabilia. I'm sure the legal team of VH had something to do with that

I noticed they opened for the Doobie Brothers and The Stones in New Orleans at one point in 1978

This show was recorded by Mr Freeze. Most know him from the Led Zep taping world as well as TTD. Sadly this show hasn't been released yet.

It is in his vault, unreleased. Not sure if you are familar with this guy, but he was one of the biggest tapers during the 70s & 80s in the South. He recorded EVERYBODY, 100s of shows. Some are out, others not.

Several Led Zep masters, great AUD recordings.

Hey, Thanks for that web site!

And now, you need to check out this website of Black Sabbath tour dates for 1978:

VH with Black Sabbath -- Sabbath's 1978 Tour Dates

I was at the first Dallas show on Nov. 25, 1978, so I obviously noticed that the VH site missed including those shows . . . .

I always like to point out that it was Van Halen that was carrying the Black Sabbath '78 tour. It was the great desire for VH that caused the second Dallas show to be added on Nov. 26th, after the first show sold out immeadiately.

Proof: On VH's first full Headling Tour in 1980, they played at Reunion Arena (17,000), and for --two-- shows (Even though the tour dates lists don't note the second show at Reunion.)

Black Sabbath played only one show in Dallas in 1980, at the smaller Dallas Convention Center Arena (10,000).

Wow- they shared the bill with the Ramones a couple of times as well. And Sammy Hagar- I thought they only did that at Texas Jam or Day on the Green or something

Sept. 4, 1980, I was at that show at Reunion. Don't remember there being a second show, but if you say so. I know they played 3 dates there on the 1984 tour. Only other band to play 3 shows at R. up til then was ZZ Top.
