Mike and Hagar on VR's performance
I cant believe these dudes cant just come out and say they "they fucked up our song" i mean hagar is definitely hinting at it with all this "my era is hard to sing" crap. just call a spade a spade and say "they fucked up my song"

I agree with Sam, the only thing wrong with Runaround was the singer not being able to hit Sam's high pitch. Otherwise, it was spot on. And Mike's right, VR really did justice to those Halen songs. Hopefully VH will include them on the next Greatest Hits album.

I want to see them asked that same question now, and see if they revise their answer a bit. WE all know it was a travesty, and so do MIKE AND SAM.

Sammy and Mike the politically correct rockers.
We won't offend, but we will plug the Cabo every time.

Who really gives a shit. The night was supposed to be a fun night. If Ed could have just waited a few days to go to rehab, and dragged his ass to the event for a couple hours, got onstage, played a couple songs...we wouldn't be complaining about vr, we'd all be complaining about how Van Halen didn't do themselves justice.
Stop trying to bring Sam and Mike down. They are making the best of a shitty situation. Making an effort to have fun whenever possible.Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a yacht big enough to pull up right alongside it. DLR

I agree 100% with you DoHalen 5150, Sam and Mike were troopers for showing up and still people are trying to pick at certain details in order to make them look bad. Does anybody out there actually believe that Sammy or Mike would have said anything negative about VR while the guys were still at the venue. You know what my answer would have been if I were a member of VR and Sammy or Mike would have said something negative, Well why isn't your band up on stage...oh! yes...because you're a dysfunctional bunch.
Remember one thing people, VH was unable to perform their own stuff that night, so ANOTHER band gave it a shot. Now, were pissing on VR for sucking at what they did? We should be bitching at VH for not being able to get it together for one night. Remember people, never look a gift horse in the mouth. We're lucky that someone out there got up and did play a VH song that night.

Dude, they spoke in the moment. It was one of the biggest nights of their lives. It's like have you ever hear some dude who won an Academy Award criticize another winner's speech, right there, in the backstage area? Of course not. Why? Because these guys were happy campers, they're honored. Of course here on this forum, we're upset. What did we win? Nothing. We only saw a couple of crappy performance, and we're rightfully angry.
But Mike and Sammy, they were in celebration mode, feelin the love and the good vibes. Sam jammed with Keef Richards on that night, for chrissakes! U think he's gonna mad at something??? It's a question of perspective.Little Dreamer

No Ray Danniels destroyed Van Halen. I don’t subscribe to any other belief. Sorry. Had Ed Leffler not died, Sammy would never have been kicked out of the band.
