    Uhhh...This came in my E-Mail today..."steel unemployed?"

I've been using an online source for a job search, to lesson the need for banging on doors and filling out applications, saving shoe leather and precious time.

As a result, this showed up in my email today, with the immortal heading in the subject box:

    steel unemployed?

Our company name is xxxxxx, and our main business is to sale and to
collect ancient furniture all over the world (Asia, the Europe). We
distribute the remarkable sets of the furniture created by the demand
    of
crowned heads, clerics of high categories, scientific and other
representatives of the Middle Age high society, each of which ordered
    to embody
its position and the category in a complex stucco moulding. The ancient
furniture brings thevspirit of history and charming beauty (both
external and internal) in an interior - each of our parties possesses
personal energy, value and even individuality.

Now we launch the same business in the United States of America. For
this reason we have some vacancies in our branch in the USA. Our main
offer is a position of sales manager, apart time job , and for this
    work
we need people of 21-60 years. The salary for such kind of job is 7% or
1700$ of each transaction. Your main task is to recieve payments from
our customers on your name to your mail adress and immidiately to send
money back to our Sales Manager. If all this is interesting to you,
    and
you wish to cooperate with our company you only should contact us as
soon as possible and send your resume. This work is interesting enough
and it is not so difficult to do, and it is the only chance to try
    yourself in financial employment!

The main requirements for this work: the good communicative skills show
the ability to work in a team. Ability to keep interest of the company
    more than your own interests.
You also should have USA citizenship.

You can send your resume directly on our e-mail: xxxxxx

    Best regards.

The post was unsigned. I swear this is for real, the usual edits put in by me to avoid injury to the party sending it.

Yup, things are surely looking up.

Um, sounds like one of those Russian or Nigerian scams where they promise to deposit $$$ into your account via a medium such as Western Union after you first write them a check.

I love the fact that good communication skills are a pre requisite for the job. I guess they have to hire SOMEONE who has them..

They obviously haven't hired a proof-reader yet. Spellcheck wouldn't hurt, either.

This sounds similar to a 20/20 program about a week ago where they tracked fraudulent purchases made using stolen credit cards. All the merchandise was sent to a small town in upstate N.Y. to a person who did not live at the address but the people who lived there would sign for it and when they had possession of the items they forwarded them to an address in Africa where the items were sold on the black market. The people who lived in the house in N.Y. were scammed into spending the $$ on the freight charges to Africa with the promise of a partnership in the business. Also the guy who was signing for the stuff fell for what he thought was the hot chick he was sending this stuff to. They IM each other and she would send these sexy pictures of herself to help rope him in. Needless to say she didn't look like that and he ain't no partner in the company.

Sounds like the latest Nigerian scam variation to me. Geezus, you'd think once they got busted by 60 minutes, that would have been over.
