LOL! Say what you will about the 'new' Kramers but my pop bought this one and for an axe that ANYONE can afford, I was EXTREMELY impressed. Now, I'm not saying this thing can compete with your top-shelf stuff but for the low, low price, it's a very well-built guitar. I was especially impressed with the pickups as they were a lot hotter and warmer than I expected, and the neck is surprisingly comfy to play...

yeah originally when they came out I thought they were somewhere in the 699 range, and I was seriously thinking of getting one but then I go on their website and I see 899 and go...hmmm nevermind

They have gone up a lot. I got mine from the factory off of ebay three years ago. They used to sell their returns that way, they may still do. I got it for $500 and the only problem was it had a really, really, really bad setup. I set it up correctly and I love it.

I just bought a 1985 Kramer Baretta in "Vintage White" at Music123, which are $400 less than what MusicYo sells them for.

That's a pretty high price tag for a Korean/Indonisian built guitar. Must be some really steep profit margins on those POS's...

Several different no name Korean companies, Ghostbuild all the Epiphones. Most of the Washburns and Music Yo Kramers.

Some of the new Kramers are made in the US and I believe that includes the 84 and 85 Baretta.

i have an original barretta circa 84/85 and i bet not one of those new ones comes anywhere close. its a 20 or so yr old guitar, the frets are still virtualy perfect and the only thing ive had to do to it is change the pup.
i bet with these new ones the frets will need dressing properly when u first get it and then replacing after 18months of use not to mention the crappy pots gibson will fit that go crackly after 2 weeks, this seems to be a common thing for epi's and other non gibson branded guitars that they produce.

I missed a new original 80's one by a couple days several years ago in a local store. My cousin has 3 or 4 that are killer guitars.

i love the damn things too and intend to add to mine, when ever i see one in a music store i get an itch in the credit card!
