Default Daddy got a new amp!

So I picked up a brand spankin new Bogner xtc today. I've been playing it for 5 hours straight and my initial response is holy mother of god!

It's a 3 channel deal with a boost for each channel, and tons of eq options. It's too early to be objective but holy christ is this thing ever smoking! It seems to have pretty much every good o/d tone that's any good in it. It goes from dead clean to tearing your head clean off, and it does everything in between, and I mean well. You want jazz tones, it's in there, you want Zep/Sabbath it's in there, you want early VH, it's in there, you want sammy vh it's in there, (minus the preamp buzzsaw BS), modern tones are there as well.

It took a fuck of a long time to get here, and a lot of wasted $$ in amps. If you guys get a chance to try one at proper volume, do it. http://www.bogneramplification.com/

A band I know from here who are signed to Epic just dumped their Mesa amps in favor of a Bogner endorsement. So the quality is comparable?

Welcome to the club. I've been gigging with mine for about 6 years now.

The thing about this amp, is that you'll have it for years and still find new settings to try. When you get tired of the way it sounds, just change the settings/voicing etc.

I dumped my Mesa gear for this as well. Quality-wise, they're miles above mesa. Bogner's still a small company, (around 6 guys building) and I talked with the guy who built my amp. Once mine was asembled he sat it on the bench (turned on) for 3 days and hand tuned it. It generally takes about 4 months to get one.

The tone is something to be experienced in person. With mesa's, (and a lot of other amps) you have to find a useable tone. So far with the Bogner every tone is useable. No matter how much gain you dump into it, you do not get that nasty preamp buzzy shit that you get with 5150's Soldano's, Mesa's etc. It's like a Marshall on roids, and it's HUGE sounding.

Soldano was going to be my comparison--in build, quality, and price, that is.

I'm gonna have to look into 'em more!

Soldano's are awesome amps, I assume you're refering to the slo? That was on my list as well, (and a hell of a lot easier to find). They're a fair bit brighter in the upper mids and sizzley then the xtc. The sound fantastic, but I prefer the xtc. The xtc is a lot more versitile as well.

So, then, if it should "disappear".......your insurance company would replace it.....Hmmmmmm.....very interesting......

Congratulations, the Bogner is a great amp, but they seem to be very particular to me. A friend of mine has one and it sounds fantastic, but for whatever reason it doesn't really mesh with my playing. Bogner is a great company to deal with, their customer service is great. Again, congrats on the purchase.

I've heard great things about the Bogner, very cool home.

Way too far out of my price range, but if I could afford it.

Yeah they for sure have their own mojo to them. It seems to really lend itself to legetto style of playing, which is good because my picking hand sucks.
