The April Fool's thread - Who did you get today and how?

Well, I had a positively evil idea today of convincing as many people as I could for April Fool's Day and I had actually gotten engaged. Now, anybody who knows me can easily attest that the only way this would happen is if I had gotten a frontal lobotomy.

So, I decided to start testing the waters today whilst I was out getting another K-SCUM dog tag made. I sent a text to a chick at work who knows all too well how anti-commitment I am. The message was simple....

"Got Engaged last night". The expected freak-out was transmitted back to me, followed by the frantic phone call peppered with "Are you out of your mind" and so forth and such like. After dropping the AFD bomb on her and relief returning to her voice, I contemplated my next victim. Now, I had to be careful to choose someone who wouldn't actually be happy about this, per se. It had to be someone intimately familiar with my feelings on this sort of thing...someone who knew I of all people would never in their right mind do this.

Naturally I texted Texas Poundcake.

So as one might expect she thought I had truly lost my friggin mind. Only this time, I was gonna really sell this prank with pics of me and a girl I was seeing back in 2005. Had to convince her also that I had cut off my hair and did this whole romantic picnic in the park production for the big moment so the pics would seem more convincing.

The best part came when I revealed that my bride to be was the jealous type, a 19-year-old insecure UCLA student, and there may be a chance I can't go to the Texas Linkers Weekend....TP by this point was convinced that my mind had been taken by aliens.

Well, I wanted to just make a post to go along with this prank and tell the entire board the same thing.....I just had to see how many victims I could nail this day. But upon seeing Andrew Thomas.net's engagement announcement, I thought I'd be stealing his thunder - especially if that turns out to be the real thing.

Getting TP was fun enough. She was soooo pissed at me.

Too much fun today. Anyone else get anyone good?

My loving niece told me the Wrestlemania we bought got locked off or some such nonsense. Following my rant about already payin for it she kindly informed me it was April Fools day.

I'm getting too old for this shit.

I proposed to my girlfriend around 2:30 AM on 4/1. (No, it wasn't a joke. I wasn't thinking about what day it was.) I sent out a few annoucements in the evening, and I actually had a few friends call me just to make sure I wasn't messing with them. In their defense, I gave no indications to ANYONE I was anywhere near thinking about marriage.
