Good Modern Music
So alot of people out there follow alot of bands that are mostly over a couple decades old. Anyone know of some really good modern rock bands. Even if its just an inividual song from an artist that is good.
Personally I love alot of bands that are relatively new
Gotthard- Swedish (english speaking) rock band. Really awesome, lot of energy and catchy tunes
Silvertide- Opened for VH on 04 tour, great sound, awesome band with a classic rock edge
DropKick Murphy's- Awesome band that played in the movie "The Departed". Irish bagpipes mixed with hard rock makes for an interesting mix.
The Fratelli's- New band from England thats making a splash over here. Just really new and intersting type of music. Definetly has its roots in rock.
BuckCherry- There new alblum is pretty good, and getting to be pretty popular
Alot more, but hopoefully you guys have some thoughts too

"Avenged Sevenfold" and "My Chemical Romance" would be my picks, along with a terrific three-piece prog-rock band called "Muse". Rather than the normal standard followed by several of today's bands (one or two good tracks per album with a shitload of filler crapola), the bands that I mentioned actually have the musical talent and songwriting chops to flesh out an entire cd with terrific material.
Highly recommended.
"Wolfmother" are ok, yet it tends to remind one of listening to a parody album at times (think of a barely pubescent Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin fighting it out in a middle school parking lot, before they where famous, with the guy from "The White Stripes" as the gym coach breaking it up by yelling loudly ).
...craig"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

Loved Audioslave...
They're an ex-band. Cornell and the boys parted ways earlier this year.
I agree with Chef on MCR. The Black Parade is killer. I've found myself not listening to much rock lately. Been listening to more Amy Winehouse/Joss Stone when it comes to new stuff. Also been on a Hendrix/SRV kick lately for old stuff.Don't drink the Jim Jones punch. They're called theToxic Twins for a reason...

Without sounding self serving. . .you really should listen to REVERY. The music is similar to Velvet Revolver, Buckcherry, etc, but still a little different.
www.myspace.com/revery
Don't just listen to the first song and judge -- there is some variety there.
The whole CD is really good.www.facebook.com/revery
If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

I missed out on the 04 tour, all I got to listen to was their CD, which I thought was fantastic. Devil's Daughter, I ain't coming home, Blue Jeans, SFC, all good songs.
Also i like the british rock band "Ten" and "Wig Wam".
I think jet is probably one of the best bands around. There new CD "Shine" is awesome, with "Stand Up" being my favorite track.

Silvertide blew, as did the other band that opened for VH on the tour. I found this pop/rock band BIG CITY ROCK, which I thought is pretty good. Nothing else really stands out to me for good new rock music.

Best metal band out right now is Machine Head...They should attain Metallica type status with their new cd "The Blackening".
Best rock band out is Godsmack. They're becoming the younger generations Aerosmith. Good, predictable songs with sub-par guitar playing and a great frontman/vocalist....And a slew of rock "hits".
I'm not really into anything pop-punk or emo or anything like that. For the most part, any time I turn on the radio it's some lame Chili Peppers song or another terrible band trying to sound like Tool or Creed."The music of Van Halen is vital."-David Lee Roth-1978

Fireball Ministry is good. Sounds a lot like Molly Hatchet...'stoner rock.' Saw "The Broken" on MTV2 over the weekend. That song is catchy AND rocks.
Foo Fighters is good too. "Best of You" is an awesome, even if Grohl yells it.
